[She doesn't really broadcast much. And this is not a very usual thing to address everyone with, so she's just a tad awkward under the serious tone.]

Hello everyone. I'm Syeira, one of the captains of the Red Fish. I don't know all of you, and I do apologize for that. But I have something that, I imagine, will be of interest, if not concern, to many of you here. Especially in relation to our ever out of reach captors. So, ah, I suppose to the point then. About a month ago....

[She hesitates, looks away but almost immediately looks back, making herself say it. With a calm, straight face, and dry eyes.]

I died.

[All right. Said and done. Move on. Move forward to the point.]

I know that for a lot of people here, that's not exactly surprising- seeing a person perish and then be returned to life. Even on my world such things are possible; common in fact. Even long after death, if one gets a hold of strong enough magic.

However, this is a unique situation for a few reasons. Firstly, I am of a...rare and particular family tree that cannot, by any means, be revived after death. Yet, here I am.

[She lifts her hands and lets them fall. Takes a small breath and continues.]

Secondly. I have been having dreams. A dream, really. After my revival, I was extremely ill, for near to a tenday. Which this next item could have been attributed to, if it had only happened while I was feverish. However, I am quite well now, and the same dream keeps occurring. I would describe it to you, but whenever I attempt to recall the details, my memory suddenly fails.

Again, for most, it could easily be written off. A symptom of a physical trauma. And again, I am not someone who falls into the norm. I have always dreamed in a very specific and singular way. This is new.

[Her gaze trails off, her thoughts turning inward.]

New and suspiciously vague. I can tell you all, what I dream of is something dark, and with ill intent. I can't give more than that. I wish I could.

[She blinks and looks back, focusing again. But she's about finished.]

It isn't much. And I'm not sure yet how this might help us with our overarching puzzle that is Atroma, but I knew I needed to share with you all. Thank you for your time.

I'm getting a set of swords as well. Shame I can't get my hands on some spell scrolls, though. A bit of offensive magic wouldn't go amiss, should another dire situation arise.

[yo sye it's a completely unfamiliar person who nonetheless looks very concerned]

[Okay, yes, so he'd thought he'd been dead when he got here, and he has proof in the form one one (1) space dad that it can bring dead people here, but she died when she was here and she's still alive? That's entirely new in his experience.]

[Oh, hello new person. Nice to meet you.]

I uh- yes. I'm fine.

[She's a lying liar who lies. But she hates worrying people.]

I was ill and tired for a few tenday, but I'm well now. Thank you for asking, Mr...?

Finn. I'm Finn.

[Yeah, she doesn't look entirely okay.]

Where I'm from, people don't get another chance. I--I'm glad you did.

Confirmation of the point, then. I'll have to make note of it, since there had been some question, at least amongst the people I know.

[Robin pauses, wanting ever so badly to ask what it was like- life's final mystery, and this woman knows the answer!- but she doesn't. It went badly when she asked Xavier. Perhaps a discussion for another day.]

I take it you're concerned that the dream is a portent of something? Do you think you could elaborate a bit more on what's troubling you?

I'd be a liar indeed, if I said I'm not equally glad to be alive. Yet I find it hard to be thankful, all the same.

[she was going to ignore this, for the most part, but . . . some of this is a little too - something for her to completely disregard]

This dream of yours - it is the same, every single time? That you can recall?

Because it means they're interfering.

About the dream. There's ways to remember things like that, to focus on--[how had they put it]--the way the mind is influenced by the unconscious. Like, write down everything you remember as soon as you wake up, even if it's just snatches. And try to clear your mind and focus, and see what it drifts to. Have you already tried those?

[He's across the room, trying to make himself busy as she's giving the broadcast so he doesn't make her nervous, but he's listening to every word. When she's done and has turned off her device, he puts down his notebook and gets up, going to her. He sits down in front of her on the bed, cross-legged, and puts a gentle hand on her knee.] You did well. Are you okay?

I have tried that actually. It seems the moment I attempt to write, or draw, or talk about the dream at in anyway, that's when it vanishes away from me. All the more reason to be suspicious of it. I'm not unaccustomed to having my memory tampered with, and this smacks of it.

[Finn narrows his eyes in thought.]

What about thinking about it? Can you do that? Cause--I don't know if you know this, but there are some people here who can see what you're thinking if you let them.

Not so much a portent. I've never been a mystic of any kind. I think it might be more of a memory. One I'm not allowed to truly access, since the problem is I simply can't elaborate.

I wouldn't recommend it, no, but better me than someone else, I think.

[She gives a little smile. Everything is fine, miss.]

I believe it's the same, yes. [She opens her mouth to naturally attempt to describe it, and then the words just die in the making. Clearly what she had meant to say is just impossibly gone.] But try as I may, I can't even seem to give a single specific detail.

Neither would I. Was it here, that it happened? Or is this something you remembered?

[she looks a little apologetic for asking, at least. She knows her manners sometimes]

That is . . . incredibly strange, though. It sounds - deliberate? I think is the word.

[Now that is a little terrifying. Thank you, Mr. Finn.]

I- I don't know. Sometimes, for a brief moment. But it's like trying to focus on fog. The closer you look at the details, the thinner they become.

It was on the last planet... Unless I missed a stop between then and this one.

[You know. Being dead and all.]

But I agree. It seems very deliberate.

[She smiles, small, that doesn't reach her eyes, and she covers his hand with her own.]

I'm fine.

[She's probably said some version of "I'm fine" about a thousand times by now.]

It needed to be done. I just wish I had more to offer.

The last planet was the one where touch shared what you felt.

[she purses her lips, thoughtful]

I cannot say it surprises me much. Are there any here who are skilled in walking through dreams? They may be of assistance.

Oh. Well, yes.

[She looks off to the side a moment, clearly looking at something that makes her smile for the first time since she began the broadcast. Or someone.]

I do know someone who is a dreamwalker, though he is deprived of his materials at the moment.

[she tilts her head at that, eyebrows raised]

Does he use magic or another method?

Explains why you see it in dreams, then. You can't really focus on things in a dream, not in the same way.

[He's silent for a moment, thinking again.]

What do you feel about it? That it's related to what happened and not just a coincidence?
