Action: he's in his quarters on the Vanquish.
When: 9/13, which is the anniversary of a horrible catastrophe on his planet!! also his birthday. but mostly the catastrophe thing.

I've gotten a sponsorship box, although I am still not entirely sure what that means. Anyway, it came with the assertion that I should have a wonderful day. But since I hope that you, the reader, will have a wonderful day, and because it would take me a very long time to eat all of this, I'm going to leave it out and let you come and take a cup full, if you'd like to.

It's sitting in the cargo hold of the Vanquish. There are other things there, as well, but you can find this particular box thanks to the glitter on the floor surrounding it. You can take more than a cup, too. I won't be monitoring it. I want to share any bounty I can with any creature I can. A debt is no good.

I do have one request, independent of boxes and cups. If you have the time, and if you feel nostalgic, would you tell me about your planet? It can be anything you want to say. Whatever details are most vivid as the memory of your home. Whatever hallmarks you consider to define your dwelling place. Thanks.

okay this is an important question kaworu have you met my friend pinkie pie she has the magical ability to turn anything into a party and she can make any food more colorful just by being in its presence

or maybe its not magic just force of will either way its really impressive if you want colorful food i can hook you up

i should probably mention she is in fact a pony not a human thats not a figure of speech

I don't know much about parties... It sounds like she might be able to teach me. I haven't learned anything from a pony before. Maybe she could use some of these sprinkles.

well it helps that shes very forward about these things i never had a party before i got here but she gave me a birthday and everything

[It shouldn't feel strange for someone to point blank understand the need to recede, but for some reason, it does. Kaworu stares at his screen for a few moments, wondering if it's foolish of him to be so dramatic. He can't decide. On the one hand, Second Impact is definitely something to be dramatic about. On the other, only Shinji and Asuka know what that world is like. He shouldn't be sapping joy from oblivious people. And Finn is so nice, and selfishly, Kaworu wants to feel nice, too. It wouldn't be bad to see a friend.

Now he just has to make sure he has the fortitude to behave normally in front of a guest.

[Once Kaworu had been drawn to the color orange like a crow to a coin, but eventually, in trying to change himself, he changed his clothes, too. These days he tends toward softer, cooler colors—but today, for memorial's sake and maybe for nostalgia's too, Kaworu is wearing all black. When Finn arrives on the Vanquish, Kaworu will be sitting on a random crate, legs crossed, one foot bobbing as he hums a song. It's a slow song, with notes that linger in his throat. His humming isn't especially "good"—that is, it doesn't sound like he can sing well—but he seems dedicated to the song regardless.]

[He's perhaps a little nervous as he's only talked to Kaworu over text, so when Finn gets out he waves first to make sure everything's all right. But he looks like he's in a very good mood, and as usual he's wearing his brown-and-red jacket over plain clothes.]
