[the voice that comes through the feed sounds young and very frightened. she trips over her words and stutters, nervous, speaking very quickly. she's wandering a corridor on the pathstone, pacing rapidly after leaving the room she woke up in, and the sound of her hurried footsteps can be heard in the background.]

Hello? I-I'm sorry. I know I'm not supposed to talk to strangers. But I think I'm lost... Um, really lost. I don't remember how I got here at all, and I tried my dad's phone number but it isn't working.

[a pause. breathing in, breathing out. it doesn't make her sound more calm.]

I don't really know who I'm talking to, but if you can help me get home - I'm really scared. Um, my name is Natalie, I...

[she trails off, and there's a pause as she walks past a window for the first time, looks out into the vast array of stars and blackness out there.]

No way—

[she fumbles with the communicator for a moment, panicked, before the feed abruptly stops.

ooc: natalie/opal is being affected by an age down augment glitch! she'll be younger for about a week.]

Out the window it looked like... Are we in the sky? I don't know what's going on.

It's okay. We're going to start with the stuff you do know, all right?

First of all: are you hungry or thirsty, or are you cold?

I-I'm... hungry, I think. But I don't want to eat, I want to go home.

I'm so sorry Natalie...but going home is probably gonna take some time. You'll get hungrier before you can get there, but as long as you make sure to eat then you can make it back.

[she pauses]

You said your name, but... Who are you?

I'm nobody special. I woke up here some time ago like you did, and I didn't really understand what was going on either. Freaked out when I looked out the window, too.

...but I had someone with me, and that helped it not be so overwhelming. If that's what you'd like, I can come find you and we can go look for something to eat together.

Are you somewhere in here, too? I only hear you through the phone.

[she hesitates]

My dad is going to come get me really soon, but until he comes, if that's okay... I don't like it here.

Sounds good to me. We can hang around together until you can get back to your dad.

I'm gonna have to get to where you are, but you can help me with that. Do you see anything on the phone that says 'ship name,' or anything painted on the walls that looks like it could be a name of a place?

Um...

[after a short pause]

Pathstone? Would that be it?

Yeah, that's it. And-

[flips on his video feed]

Here. This is what I look like, so you know. I'll be over in just a few minutes.

[she blinks when the feed switches over to video, giving a timid wave]

Okay. Um, I'll wait here.

[It takes him longer than a few minutes since their ships are further apart than he thought, but Sorey makes his way over and starts poking around in the hallways for a little girl. The ships thankfully aren't that huge, so it doesn't take long to find her and he pauses at the end of the hallway when he spots her.] Natalie?

[she'd taken a seat while waiting, but she stands up when she sees him and hurries over.]

Hi. Um, thank you for coming...

Nah, don't worry about it. I wasn't doing anything. [Not anything he should've been doing, anyway.

Sorey sinks into a crouch to get eye-level with Natalie and sticks out a hand for her to shake.] Nice to meet you face-to-face. Good job hanging in there; it must've been a hard decision to make, whether or not to talk to strangers. [The only question is, why is she here on the Pathstone instead of the Marvisa? Are the Atroma bringing people directly into their ships now?]

[tentatively, she reaches out to shake his hand]

Thank you... Do you think anyone's going to angry at me? I know I'm not supposed to.

Don't worry, I think you'll be fine. You didn't have any other options.

Now. [Pats his knees and pushes himself back up.] Lets get you some food. We can work on everything else after that's been taken care of. [He offers her his hand, just in case. She looks a little old for it, but...]

What's there to eat?

[she glances at his hand, then back up at him, shaking her head]

No, that's okay.

I haven't been in this kitchen so I'll have to take a look, but usually there's at least stuff to make rice, mashed potatoes, uh...some kind of meat stuff. It tastes okay. And I can cook a little, so there's usually spices and stuff.

[he's being optimistic, it's mostly not good.] I also have jerky back on my ship if you'd like some of that. I can bring it over later. And I have a friend on this ship too, she does a lot of baking. She can make you cakes and stuff if you'd like those.

[tiny hands, his only weakness]

Okay... That sounds good. I don't need any cake, though, really.

Why don't you tell me about your dad on the way, so I can keep an eye out? [Which begs another question; she's so small, he can't just leave her here. But at the same time he can't be away from the Huntress for very long with the state it's in. Should he take her back with him?]

Okay. What do you think would help you find him? His name is Daniel, he's tall...

Hair color, eye color, if he's got a beard or anything like tattoos or scars that I would be able to see... We could also use these communicators to see if anybody named Daniel showed up.

Um, his hair is a little bit darker than mine... He has brown eyes. I don't think he has any tattoos or scars.

I already tried to call him...

That's okay. [Yeah her dad is totally not here. Sorey pats her on the back as they turn into the kitchen and he starts rooting through the cabinets.] I'm sure he'll show up. Maybe he just isn't looking at the comms right now.

Sometimes he gets pretty busy... Maybe he's taking care of my mom. But he'll probably come soon.

[she seems uncomfortable for a moment, moving on]
