If anyone can see this transmission, my name is Rey and I was just - [Meeting a cloaked Jedi. No big deal.] It doesn't matter. I'm looking for the Millennium Falcon and a tall Wookiee named Chewbacca.

This ship is called the Marsiva, isn't it? It...wouldn't happen to be owned by the First Order, would it?

Hi! Welcome. I know it's really confusing right now and I'm not going to say it gets less confusing, but I guarantee that this is not a First Order thing.

[That's a relief and...not.] Then I know less than I thought I did. Can you tell me more, Kara?

It's likely that you're in a completely unfamiliar part of the universe... maybe a different time.

I'm not exactly sure. I just know we were all brought here, seemingly without our consent, and now we fly from planet to planet. No one seems to be familiar with this system, though, except our "hosts".

[This is downright weird and she can't fully understand why anyone would go to such lengths. How many people even know about her Force abilities? It can't be many and Kylo Ren had been injured when she had left him. There's no way he could have spread the word that fast.]

Some have. I haven't, so much. They don't really like to make themselves known.

What's their purpose in kidnapping us? Are you...Force sensitive?

I'm not, but the prevailing theory is entertainment. We're supposedly on some sort of reality show broadcast for residents in the galaxy. But, again, we haven't really had too much confirmation of that.

That's... [Aggravating. She has somewhere else she needs to be and she doesn't doubt she isn't the only one!] I really don't have time to be entertainment.

What do I have to do to appease them?

I know. I really don't have time, either. But time behaves differently here, I think.

And honestly? I wouldn't try to appease them. We're stuck here either way.

Do they take things when you arrive, usually? I had a weapon...

It's okay, Rey. It's a really disorienting situation, and everyone here has gone through it. I just don't know how much I can answer. I've been here for 8 months and it's a weird balance between accepted and surprising.

They do take your things, sometimes, especially weapons. They've also... I don't want to freak you out or anything, but they've implanted something in your neck. We all have it. It's called an augment.

What?! [Cue her scrambling to a mirror to check her neck. What...] Why do I have a...augment? What does it do?

[No, breathe. Be calm. She closes her eyes and finds her balance again.]

This really is too much. [She's wondering if she made the right choice is abandoning Jakku altogether.]

There's nothing that puts you immediately at risk, right at this moment. But if you try to mess with it, there are bad consequences. Mostly it's there to give you information—do you just know something that you can't quite explain knowing? It's probably the augment.

O-Oh, no, I'll - I'll be okay. [She's thrown by the offer and it's clear she probably hasn't been hugged very much before.]

I think I know more about these ships than I should. Particularly when it comes to flying them. Is that a possible augment?

I taught myself to fly on Jakku. I think I can handle almost any ship.

Really? How? That sounds very impressive.

A lot of practice. Once I scavenged enough parts, sometimes I would get a ship working again for a short while - just to test it out. I was even able to build my own speeder.

That sounds amazing. I'm not sure what a speeder is but it sounds like a great accomplishment.

It's a small ship that you can ride above the desert sand! Mine could carry a lot of weight and go faster than most other speeders I saw on Jakku.

And you built that? From scratch? That's incredible.
