If anyone can see this transmission, my name is Rey and I was just - [Meeting a cloaked Jedi. No big deal.] It doesn't matter. I'm looking for the Millennium Falcon and a tall Wookiee named Chewbacca.

[Unless she has been kidnapped by the First Order again.]

This ship is called the Marsiva, isn't it? It...wouldn't happen to be owned by the First Order, would it?

[Please say no. She has noticed that she is missing the lightsaber and that leaves her with only one option if she is cornered. ~~How does the Jedi Mind Trick even work?~~]

I heard something about Bloodsport? I'll be shifted over there tomorrow.

[Her brow furrows.] Can I change ships, do you think?

[And then none of that matters because Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker.]

Wow. [What else can she say?] If you like her, I'm sure I will too.

Not sure I know anybody on the Bloodsport, but maybe I do and they just didn't mention it. You, uh--yeah, you can transfer anywhere there's extra room. We got extra room.

[Just saying.]

I hope you like all of them. And Poe Dameron, do you know him? He's over here with me on the Caprine too.

Then I'll fill out the paperwork when I get over there. [Like she is leaving Finn on his own! Or Poe for that matter.]

I'll let Captain Dany know. What augment did you get, Pilot? I'm Security.

[And Finn looks suddenly bashful. He doesn't want to make anythign awkward, which means he ought to be upfront about a certain thing, but it's still not exactly second nature for him to talk about.]

Poe's, uh. He's my boyfriend. But I bet he'll be happy to see you, too.

Yes, I think it's Pilot. [How fitting for both of them!] You'll be great at that.

[Finn has a natural bravery when it comes to protecting those he cares about.]

So you're - [Her eyes widen and suddenly she beams.] That's wonderful! I want to pay both of you back for everything you've done for me.

[Finn looks super relieved at that. He wasn't sure how she'd feel, but--that's good.] He's been a good friend to me, Rey. And we'll both be good friends to you, I promise.

[And then his eyes get a mischievous glint to them.]

And you got another friend here, too--

[He angles his communicator down to a lower angle, where a certain roly-poly BB unit is trying to get his attention.]

[Her smile turns into a grin at his relief.]

What, did you think I would yell at you for being happy? You deserve that; he deserves that.

[Eyebrows rising, she waits, holding her breath...]

BB-8! [The little emotive droid is too precious.] Are you happy to be with Poe and Finn?

Thank, Rey. Means a lot to me.

[BB-8 chirps that he's very happy to be with his friends, even if the ship is weird and doesn't talk to his own systems.]

We got him about two months ago, at this tree on a forest planet. If you stood in front of it and held hands, it would give you something important from home. A lot of people got pets, but we got BB-8.

It means a lot to me that you're alive. I was so scared -

[No, that lump in her throat needs to go away. BB-8 helps with it, of course, and she beams at him.]

I'd say you lucked out. I'll clean you up and check you over when I get to you, BB-8.

[Crooked antennas shall be fixed and any dust or debris will be wiped clean.]

So was I. Poe told me you were okay, that you and Chewie got me back and off Starkiller Base in time, but--it's still good to see you. And I'll see you in person soon.

[Be prepared for hugging.]

We really did. Oh, and you ought to know, Poe and our Engineer painted all our shuttles so they'll really stand out. Not sure why.

We did. I'm sorry I couldn't help you before you were hurt. [That perhaps has bothered her the most.]

They probably did that because of the upgrades they've put on them. They don't want them to be mistaken for another ship's shuttles.

You were there for me when I needed it the most. Nobody ever did that for me before, Rey.

[And then he snorts, regaining his amused expression.]

Poe likes orange way too much, and Pinkie's allergic to anything that doesn't come in bright colors. They woulda done it anyway.

I wouldn't leave you. [Never.] After I saw you fall, I... I don't know how I did it... I called the lightsaber to me.

[Jedi in the making here if she can find a teacher.]

I can't blame them. Pitch black space needs some color, right?

[Wait, she did what? ~~Finn was either not there or unconscious every time she'd used the Force, oops.~~]

What do you mean, you called it to you?

[Ahaha yeah like that whole Jedi Mind Trick thing...

Oops?]

Kylo Ren was calling it and I...sort of...copied him? It came to me right away.

[No, no, this is important. And it's what he's been trying to learn more about. If Rey can do it, too--]

You have the Force?

Apparently. I was meeting Master Luke to ask for training. [So she could become stronger for her friends and to find her family.] What do you know about it?

That's why it was you that went after Skywalker? [Excuse the yelping, but his mind is blown.]

Been learning about it from the Jedi. I wanted to practice with a lightsaber so that next time I had to face off with Kylo Ren it wouldn't end the same way.

Yes. His lightsaber showed me a lot of...visions, I guess? I've been able to do a lot of strange things.

[She smiles apologetically.] I didn't really have time to tell you. I wasn't sure how to tell you.

I'll gladly practice with you if you find one.

Ahsoka made me a training saber. It can't really cut through anything, but it's weighted the same and great for practice. It's just like the one I carried for you at home, too.

I bet if you wanted to learn, she'd teach you, too. Or General Kenobi could look at how you fight and recommend another teacher--that's how I met Ahsoka. ["Just" for lightsaber practice, perhaps, but he's managed to pick up a solid grasp of the basics of the Force in the meantime.]

I do need to meet her. If she wouldn't mind teaching me a little... [It would definitely make her feel less frightened; less unsure of herself.]

Finn, I...didn't want you to think I was odd or...changed. I'm sorry I didn't tell you.

The thing I did to the Stormtrooper alone was -

You asked how I escaped that room, remember? I...ordered the Stormtrooper to remove my restraints, leave with the door open and drop his weapon. He did them all!

She's really nice. They all are, the Jedi.

[Okay, Anakin's not nice but he's a good person and he's very serious about the Force and how to connect with it.

But she was afraid it would somehow make her--what? Scary to him?]

Rey, listen to me. Nothing you could do or say or be would make me like you any less than I do. You're my best friend. That's not going to change whether you have the Force or want to go back to Jakku or--or anything. You're important to me.

[But then he seems to calm down a bit and even smiles at her description of what happened.] Stormtroopers are a little too used to following orders.

Nice people usually have it rough.

[They both know that, though it won't stop her from trying to be friendly to those who are not openly threatening her or her friends.

To say she is touched by his reassurance doesn't cover it.] Finn... Thank you.

[Her voice shakes and she wipes at some stray tears.] You're important to me too. I could never think badly of you.

[He is likely the closest to family she has.]

But he knew it was me giving the orders. I was looking straight at him.

I'm glad you're here, Rey.

[Which is all he needs to say about that.

As for the giving orders thing, he looks entirely too amused.]

That's the Force, all right. It makes them think it's their own idea.

I'm glad you're here too. [Words are poor substitutes for gigantic hugs.]
