[When Ravi wakes up in a completely unfamiliar bunk, his first thought is that he's been whisked back to the zombie camp with the unmentionable name and is about to have a bevy of overenthusiastic, purple gorilla nurses descend upon him. But as the minutes tick by uneventfully, he decides to brave the unknown to explore his surroundings and - despite the perplexities of his current situation - is visibly delighted by everything he sees. When he finally gets the hang of the communicator, his hands are actually shaking from the excitement of it all, making his image a little blurry onscreen.]

Apparently I'm in space! Which is actually pretty bloody brilliant! It's a definite upgrade from my previous zombie camp escapade, let me tell you, but I have so many questions!

[He looks like he's about to start rambling for hours on end, but manages to visibly reel himself in first. It's probably best to start with the basics.]

I'm Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti and I suppose this makes me a new member of this fleet, if there is a fleet. Which I'm pretty sure there is since I'm just about one hundred percent certain I could see other ships from the viewing area.

[A huge grin breaks out over his face as he mentally processes this again.]

I'm part of a fleet and I'm broadcasting in space! I mean, look, I'm obviously not thrilled about being displaced from home again, but if it has to happen, at least I'm on an actual, honest-to-God spaceship! And if anyone can provide some information on why exactly I'm in space, I'd be much obliged. Don't get me wrong, I could only have ever dreamed about all this robotic medical equipment in the last place, but at least the gorilla nursing staff was a bit more communicative.

Kitty appears on screen, looking at him almost seriously. Solemn.]

I think the most important question here is whether or not the zombie campers earn zombie merit badges.

[Her serious expression almost puts him on edge, but he relaxes into an easy grin again at her statement.]

I think they should, but I'm obviously a little bit biased. Is this something I need to start campaigning for? Because I will!

[ Kara's face pops up on the feed and she waves, smiling ]

I like your enthusiasm!

I will say that the answers probably aren't very satisfying but hey, at least most of the people are nice? What kind of doctor are you?

[He waves back, obviously still on a high from the excitement of being in space.]

What can I say? My eight year-old self would have gone absolutely bonkers for this. Along with my sixteen year-old self and - let's be honest - everything up to and including my eighty year-old self!

Satisfying or not, I'll take any answers you have to offer! They can't be any worse than the "under-investigation-for-a-murder-that-didn't-actually-happen?" explanations I got at the last place. And I'm the kind of doctor that works in the medical examiner's office, so I'm generally of more use to the kind of people who are beyond medical help.

It's supposed to be a reality TV show. But, you know, take that with a grain of salt, probably.

Wait, does this mean you were at Camp-Name-Redacted-In-Case-Of-Underage-Viewers--?

[He's clearly taken this "reality TV show" explanation in stride. Ravi squints at the screen for a little bit, before snapping his fingers as he finally recognizes the familiar face before him.]

[Natasha opts to respond to the broadcast in video; seems fair, right? He's putting his face out there. She might as well do the same.

It's his enthusiasm that gets her attention though.]

I'm glad to see someone's excited about waking up here.

[In most situations, Ravi would have made an effort to try to be at least a little cool in front of her. But no, space is too thrilling to not be unabashedly enthusiastic about!]

I mean, I get not being excited about basically being kidnapped into some kind of interdimensional space reality show. I do! But I'm choosing to look at it as an overdue sabbatical that my eight year-old self has dreamed into reality. Besides, it's not like this hasn't happened to me before.

[It's been a bit since Kaworu has utilized the video function on this thing—but he's glad to do it, since it's easiest to convey a smile when you're actually showing off the expression. So here he is, smiling, with the warmth of an old friend: his face makes him seem like he's meeting Ravi again after a long time of being apart, but he's like that with most everybody. He looks young, too, maybe something like a high schooler, and like he's never been out into the sunlight in his entire life. Despite his pallor, color can be found in his red eyes, and the soft pink of his knitted sweater. And, driven by Ravi's own enthusiasm, Kaworu appears just as delighted—just more composed about it.]

I'm so glad if this is treating you well. Have you gotten any satisfactory answers?

[If it wasn't for the red eyes, Ravi might have thought the entirely pleasant face in front of him has belonged to someone afflicted with zombiism. But given that the kid really has all the markings of albinism, he chooses to focus on that smile. Has he met this kid before? Someone else from Camp? But try as he might, he has no recollection of him, and he's pretty sure he'd remember.]

I think I've got the gist of it, yeah. What do you make of this whole thing? Do you guys manage to have some fun out here in space?

Our medical equipment is quite decent. I think you'll be pleased with it.

I actually feel like I'm being made redundant, if I'm going to be honest. I haven't seen a single medical personnel on board since I arrived.

At the very least I don't think you'll find zombies and gorillas here. At least, I hope not.

As proficient as they came to be, all I can say is that I do not recommend a nursing staff comprised of gorillas. They tend not to take direction very well. "Let go" - for example - was something they had a lot of trouble with.

It loses its charm after a while. As for the why, there's not a clear reason other than we're meant to believe we're on some sort of reality show.

Oh I'm sure it does, but give me this moment, yeah? It's not every day that you wake up to find your childhood dream of kind-of-sort-of being an astronaut has come true!

And frankly, I've heard of much worse premises for reality shows, so there's that!

Good day, Dr. Chakrabarti. [That is a mouthful, but Monty practiced it a few times before replying. It still sounds stilted and foreign on his tongue.] I'm Navarro. Lord Montague D'Ysquith Navarro. I see you've already had an answer to your question, but I'm happy to answer anything else that I might be able to. I fear I'm rather new, myself, though.

I also wished to inquire after your 'zombie camp.' Were you sent home from that prior to your arrival here?

How's about you call me Ravi and I'll call you Navarro and we'll say we're even? It's a lot less syllables that way, innit?

And yes, as a matter of fact, I was sent home prior to this incidence of Kidnapping Round Two.

[He then shakes his head and mouths "It's not!"]

Well don't leave me hanging! What technological marvels do I have awaiting me? Although considering I didn't even have a proper IV stand - never mind a pump - at the last place, I'll be pretty easy to impress.

The Fleet is very communicative, trust me, but you won't meet most of us until you're assigned to a ship. Nobody can board the Marsiva-- the ship that you're on-- so everyone you'll meet for now are other new arrivals.

The point is, Ravi is having a lot of mixed feelings right now, most of which really has to do with George Lucas anyway. And now he's in the presence of space royalty! Or former space royalty. And he should be polite because it's not like it's her fault he didn't particularly respond to the prequels and really it's not like she was a bad character and-- he realizes he's been silent for longer than generally acceptable and clears his throat a little nervously.]

Ah, right, someone mentioned I'd be isolated here until they deemed it a suitable time to make me another ship's problem.
