[Makie opens her eyes a crack; finally, after a good six weeks. She feels too heavy and worn out, so something is obviously amiss, though her first thought is maybe she's just ill. She's had mornings like this in the past, before a friendly angel came and cleared the disease from her lungs.

She's probably also not alone, either. Well, then.

It might be why, despite how fragilely she shuffles toward the kitchen soon afterward, she looks amazingly content. Maybe she spent that much time dreaming some good shit, who knows? Or maybe it's just that she's no longer alone anymore. Other crew on the Windrose might have noticed she had a visitor in the past few weeks. Makie's sorry, guys. Hopefully Lilly didn't break anything :|

When she's woken up some with food and good tea and has caught up with her crew and made sure they're all still in one piece, she'll hit the network, looking tired and pale but courteous as always.]

I've been asleep a long time, it seems.

For those who don't know me, my name is Otono-Tachibana Makie. There's a relatively new addition to the fleet whom some of you may have met. [And regretted it.] She's a small child by the name of Lilly, fair-haired, who has... some difficulty communicating. But she likes to explore. If you find her on your ship, please treat her well. If you wish to remove her from your ship, I will retrieve her.

[She's got the best bet of doing it without causing more disaster, at any rate. Please be nice to her feral child, Fleet. She asks nicely.]

You've yet to cause us any trouble at all, actually. Though if Lilly could be taught not to track the mud from our new swamp all over the cargo bay, it would make the maintenance bots' lives a bit easier.

[He smiles apologetically; he doesn't at all mind, actually.]

I would say that's the most dramatic change we've had recently; I did convert a bit more of our cargo space over to another new gardening project. It's primarily for Misty's sake.

[Her smile turns rueful at that. Teaching Lilly is difficult, but she can certainly try.]

Until she learns, I'll make sure to assist the bots with the mess. Gardening for Misty? [Hmm...] A herb garden, is it?

[He actually looks a bit bashful at that.]

Er, it's more of a swamp, in fact. It may seem odd, but she truly does use the mud for parts of her magic.

How do you manage to create a swamp on a metal ship such as this? [She's familiar with Misty's potions and possible ingredients, but...]

Barriers to contain the water, soil and plants imported from one of the planets, and environmental conditioning to the cargo bay to ensure the humidity [and smell] doesn't escape the designated area. It wasn't significantly more difficult than setting up the garden, actually.

Does that mean the cargo bay is more humid than it used to be, or just that section of it? [She's still not entirely sure what's capable with technology, but Makie generally assumes most things are possible these days.]

Just that section of it, if everything continues to work properly.

[Though the cargo bay itself is slightly more humid than the rest of the ship anyway thanks to the other plants and the aquarium there.]

If you should notice otherwise, please do let me know and I'll have it fixed shortly.

I'll be sure to do so. [Actual swamp conditions wouldn't be the greatest for just relaxing down there, but if the atmosphere hasn't pervaded the whole cargo hold it sounds... downright scenic, actually. She grins.]

We certainly do seem to have a rather colourful cargo bay. I appreciate the variety.

[It is actually quite pretty - most people don't think of swamps as scenic, but Misty knows what she's doing.]

Thank you. Our last captain suggested I change my augment to botany, in fact, but Atroma doesn't yet offer that, alas.

I would think an augment isn't needed, if you've a gift for gardening without it.

Thank you. [He takes that as quite a compliment.] Of course, it does keep me busy and I don't generally sleep, so it has that advantage as well.

[She certainly intended it as one. She blinks at the news he doesn't sleep, though it's... well, not entirely surprising when she thinks about it.]

It must be quite solitary in the dead of night. Do you ever wish for company?

Kurt tends to be nocturnal, so we often find ourselves encountering one another then. In truth, I don't feel that I'm alone even when he sleeps; there is enough life around me. Were I truly alone in space, it would be a different story.

I can understand the sentiment. [She's used to being on her own. More and more, however, she's finding she quite likes to have company.]

Perhaps if I am ever unable to sleep, I'll come by to say hello. [She smiles wryly.] I certainly feel like I've slept enough for the next month as it is.
