[Makie opens her eyes a crack; finally, after a good six weeks.  She feels too heavy and worn out, so something is obviously amiss, though her first thought is maybe she's just ill.  She's had mornings like this in the past, before a friendly angel came and cleared the disease from her lungs.

She's probably also not alone, either.  Well, then.

It might be why, despite how fragilely she shuffles toward the kitchen soon afterward, she looks amazingly content.  Maybe she spent that much time dreaming some good shit, who knows?  Or maybe it's just that she's no longer alone anymore.  Other crew on the Windrose might have noticed she had a visitor in the past few weeks.  Makie's sorry, guys.  Hopefully Lilly didn't break anything :|

When she's woken up some with food and good tea and has caught up with her crew and made sure they're all still in one piece, she'll hit the network, looking tired and pale but courteous as always.]

I've been asleep a long time, it seems.

For those who don't know me, my name is Otono-Tachibana Makie.  There's a relatively new addition to the fleet whom some of you may have met.  [And regretted it.]  She's a small child by the name of Lilly, fair-haired, who has... some difficulty communicating.  But she likes to explore.  If you find her on your ship, please treat her well.  If you wish to remove her from your ship, I will retrieve her.

[She's got the best bet of doing it without causing more disaster, at any rate.  Please be nice to her feral child, Fleet.  She asks nicely.]

I'm impressed she made it to the garden at all. She must have gone crazy all by herself on the Marsiva. [Let alone whichever poor ship drew the short straw and landed themselves a feral child crew member.]

You brought her here?

[She nods.]

Seemed like the best thing to do.

Thank you. It was... wonderful to wake up to her face. [And her attempted abuse, but eh.] I hope she wasn't trouble beforehand

[She grins.]

Only a little. She likes my swamp.

Vision said you had a swamp. [She smiles.] I must admit, I was very curious.

[mistyday]

Do you wanna come see it?

I'd love to.

[Misty dances ahead of Makie, thrilled to have her friend back and excited to show her the changes to the ship. When they get to the cargo bay, which is looking more and more like a greenhouse every day, she stands proudly in front of a little pond-like area, with lots of moss and some water lilies and even a small tree or two.]

What do you think? Didn't Vision do just a wonderful job?

...I hadn't realised there was an actual pond here. [She's pleasantly surprised, though.]

It's a lovely job, Misty. You grow medicinal herbs here?

Yeah! These are the kinda plants I know best, so I'll be able to make even better potions for everyone.

That's good. Seems there's more use for such things on the Fleet as time goes by.

[mistyday]

[Her face falls at that.]

There was... a real bad thing that happened while you were gone.

[therewerefifty]

[Her eyebrows lift slowly. Vision hadn't mentioned anything real bad.]

What happened?

[mistyday]

I wasn't there when it happened so I don't know all the details but there was... a dragon or something like it that attacked a bunch of people in the fleet.

[therewerefifty]

[...oh.]

Kitty mentioned a dragon, but she didn't know much about it. [Guess she should slate this particular dragon as Not Good, then.]

Were there many injuries? Has the dragon been dealt with?

[mistyday]

A lot of people were hurt - most of them were kept on the Blue Fish until they got better.

[She hesitates before adding:]

I need to tell you something real important too... I don't want you ever caught by surprise and your my friend so you deserve to know.

[Makie straightens, looking at Misty curiously.]

I'm listening.

[mistyday]

You know how I got my healing powers? ... Well, I've also got what's called the power of resurgence - I can bring people back to life. And... I had to do it, after the dragon attacked.

[therewerefifty]

[...seriously? She blinks a few times, wondering if she heard correctly. The idea that it should be impossible doesn't occur; she's been in these places too long. But--]

But that's...good. Isn't it? [She pulls back to look at Misty with something akin to awe.] Being able to give life would be such a gift. Why...

[Her brow furrows.] Is there a cost to you?

[mistyday]

Not... directly, no.

[She looks down.]

But it's why people hunted me.

[therewerefifty]

[Makie stiffens, and she's perfectly still.]

People hunted you? Here?

[She knows Misty was an outcast at home, but the way in which she's told this part makes Makie wonder if the hunting is very recent. Surely not.]

[mistyday]

No! [Misty's eyes get big and she waves her hands.] No... at home. Not here. [Not yet, anyway.] But I had to use it on someone and I don't... I think it scared her.

[therewerefifty]

[Okay, good. One degree of separation. Makie gives a thoughtful hum.]

Did she say anything at the time? How long ago was this?

[mistyday]

Only a couple of weeks. I don't think she's going to do anything: Vision trusts her so I do too. But she put a post on the network about dyin' and what it's like and what do people think happens afterwards and I dunno... I feel like I should help her because I'm the one who brought her back but...

[She drifts off, helpless.]
