Who: Natasha Romanoff
Broadcast: Text
Action: Iskaulit
When: Now-ish or tomorrow morning
W4MW4Friendly Fight
Woman seeking sparring partner for morning workout. Call it cabin fever, but looking for new challenges. Normal human to moderately enhanced welcome. High skill level preferred, but beginners welcome if they're interested in a lesson.
Reply here if interested, or see Natasha Romanoff in the gym, tomorrow morning 8am.
[True to her word, Natasha can be found at the gym on the Iskaulit in the morning. She's already dressed and warmed up. She looks like she means business, but less angry or troubled—not like some of her other recent turns at the gym—but she's serious enough to give someone second thoughts if they weren't entirely sure in the first place.
Who's up for a few rounds?]

Who's up for a few rounds?]

Well, three years for me, though I was told it was only two weeks for folks here.
[ A light shrug. He moves confidently, but not with a swagger that suggests he believes this will be easy - the steady steps of someone confident in their own skills to hold their ground. He does a few quick knee bends before moving up to the matts. ]
Either way, don't want to lose my touch.

[Natasha's own year of catch up hadn't gone quite like that. Hadn't even seemed like a trip home.
She's not really jealous of the experience. Seems to her like it would only make things more complicated.]
Glad to see you didn't forget me.

I'll be happy to pass on the next round.
[ It's certainly been an interesting experience, to say the least. At least he hadn't left in the middle of something important, and he just tried to ignore the weird time frame factors. He got enough headaches from it as it was, he didn't need to add more. ]
I'm sure you hear this quite often, but you aren't someone anyone is likely to forget.
[ He shifted his weight, moving into a start position. ]
How are we doing this? Til one of us cries uncle?

You'd be surprised.
[Natasha rolls her shoulders once, her stance loose, ready.]
And I bet you say that to all of the girls. It works for me.

Only the girls I know can kick my ass.
[ He smirked and after a breath he seemed to calm and center himself. He looked to her, one heart beat, two - and then he was sharp stepping in, throwing several quick combos at her head and upper body. ]

[ He wasn't lax those three years, you know. He worked hard, not least because it continued to be an important part of his therapy. It had certainly come in handy against Krall and his ilk, and many other times on his journey. He 'tched' when she caught his fist, but he didn't seem surprised either. Rather than fight, he stepped in and around to turn them both, neither in a good position per say, kicking at het ankle however weakly. ]

[ He expected her to be high caliber, certainly no pushover. That would have been insulting. And stupid. He grunted when she tangled his foot, resigning himself to falling down and immediately pushing to roll away and out of her range to get his feet back. ]

She follows him, darting after his retreat to lunge at him as he comes up.]

[ Damn, she wasn't going to let him breathe. He should expect no less, of course, and he appreciated that it meant she was taking him seriously. He brought up his arms to block, using his abdomen to raise himself the rest of the way up. He did a few quick step-backs before snapping out with several quick jabs to try and get his own momentum back. ]

[ He keeps his head, testing as she is as to how she responds. Rushing would get him put on the ground fast here, that he knew, and he hadn't come into this with the idea of a quick victory. ]
Why do I get the feeling I'm in trouble?
[ He grins at her, adding in jabs with knees along with his fists. ]
no subject
Oh, I couldn't say about that. Who knows where feelings come from?
[For the moment, she allows the attacks, focusing on countering him, seeing what he can do.]

My gut, usually, and I have this talent for being right about those.
[ Well, why not go all out, right? If he was going to press, this was probably his best time. His attacks suddenly picked up speed, lashing out with sharp jabs and added kicks. ]

[ He fell into a steady dance with her, trading blows and falling into a sort of zen state, reacting more on instinct than true thought. He didn't go easy on her, not thought she would be easy to beat, putting effort into every strike and defense. Eventually, though, she got the better of him and he wound up on the matts, panting and slick with sweat. He raised his hand up in the universe sign for truce. ]
Water break! I call water break.

Thirsty work?

[ He did a swift tilt and shake of his head in the affirmative before making for his water bottle. ]
Best workout I've gotten in awhile.
