Who: Theon Greyjoy
Broadcast: Fleetwide, video
Action: S.S. Paisley
When: Thursday morning
[ A dark haired boy, no older than nine or ten, sits somewhere on the bridge of the Paisley. He's managed to figure out the device relatively quickly, and he sits staring at it apprehensively, head cupped in his hand.
Although he does his best to keep an even and stony expression, he can't hide the fact that he looks absolutely miserable, as if everything he ever knew and loved has just been taken from him. Which, in fact, it has. This boy wears a black cloak, emblazoned with golden krakens. If that isn't enough of a clue that this is a young Theon Greyjoy, nothing is. Clearly, someone's augment has malfunctioned.
In an uncertain voice, he finally asks: ]
Is this Winterfell?
[ On top of being unhappy, he seems incredibly suspicious of his surroundings. Everything is so strange and unlike anything he's ever seen, but all he's ever known is the Iron Islands. For all he knows, Winterfell is this strange place where they use these strange devices rather than ravens to deliver messages. On the other hand, Lord Stark frightens him, and Theon wouldn't put it past him to leave him somewhere strange and even farther away from home than he anticipated. ]
I don't remember arriving. [ His eyebrows knit together, his face scrunching up in frustration, but he tries very hard to put some semblance of forcefulness into his nervous voice. ] Where is Lord Stark?

He wants to ask if she was a prisoner as well, if she was meant to live the rest of her life under the threat of death, but he remains tight-lipped. It isn't about the Drowned God. Not really. It's about everything being different, it's about him being so far from home, and about the thought of living in fear every day that he may lose his life. ]
How long were you there?

[ He hesitates, wondering if he's already asked too much, but the start of his question is already out there, hanging in the air and waiting to be finished. He has no other choice. ]
Were you ever able to return? To your home?

but then she thinks better of the truth, and speaks a softer lie: ] I was brought here before I could return.
[ a careful untruth. it isn't as though she can ever return, she thinks. not really. regardless of petyr's promises. ]

I'm sorry.
[ He is, truly. ]
Would you have been able to return if you were never brought here...?

[ it has been promised to her. that is all. ]
