So, then-- what happens to the food you do eat? Does it get converted into mana? Hold on. [He flips open his notebook.] Would you say your mana is of a specific element? Do you ever get too full? What about gaining weight? Do you still have likes and dislikes? Does anything taste terrible to you? Are you lactose intolerant? What about eating meat?

Probably. [But he'd wear it anyway. Dezel is just that kind of person, even if he won't admit it. Mikleo could've made him the most embarrassing, ugly hat in existence, but Dezel would treasure it. People don't give him things. People don't make friends with cursed seraphim.

He rubs at his nose. Mikleo dips his feet into the water, but Dezel feels no such urge. It's cold in there. He does wiggle his fingers a little, though, and lead leaves across the water like tiny boats.]

Look, anyone when they look at the big picture feels like that. Especially after they've messed up. You're human, we're not as good at handling the big picture as we'd like to think.

If we head off in that direction, we can circle the forest a little, get a good idea of what's around i before we go into it deeper. So we don't get flanked by...whatever the heck might be here.

Oh, well, usually someone in trouble will request me or a coworker as their defense! We go and investigate the case after the detectives and police have done their job, and then we bring our findings to court.

There, the defense and prosecution engage in a lot of back and forth, with us usually trying to prove our clients innocent! But what's important at the end of the day is finding the entire truth of the matter, so it's not vital that we win all the time.

If it's just a space turkey, do you think we can catch it? I don't know about you, but I'm really getting sick of vaguely defined cube food.

Oh! Haha, well, I've sort of resigned myself to the thought of some horrible alien monster bursting through our chests or us flying directly into a black hole or whatnot. There's no way we'd get stuck on a cruise without a catch, after all.

But as of now, it's not happening, so. . .it's best not to worry that far ahead. Perhaps just a couple weeks in advance.

Er. I mean, I'm fine, sorry. Just a little turned around.

[ He's just... Staring, a little... Lost for a moment. ]

I dunno, I never really thought about it. [ His hand lands on his chin as he thinks about it. ] I'm a Wind Seraph, so, sure, I'm that element. [ He's trying to find an answer to all these questions, but it's a mess. ] Everyone's got likes and dislikes, right? Milk and meat are fine, and I usually just eat whatever Mikleo makes us.
