[They may have made planet-fall and Adalwolfe is excited to see the sights, but there's one thing he's got to accomplish first. You see, these cabins on the Three Twins are decidedly small, and the beds in them are small as well. Of course, he's not going to stay in his own assigned room with Anders right there down the hall, but the situation with the tiny bed and Anders' body being apparently made completely of sharp angles has grown untenable even in this short week. It's quite a problem.

And Hawke is nothing if not a problem solver.

Late this morning, when most everyone is likely to be awake (he hopes), Wolfe can be found dragging his bed from his room to Anders', the metal frame causing resounding and unholy screeching noises as it drags across the equally metallic floor. He'd unbolted the thing with little difficulty, turned it sideways to fit it out the door, but he can't actually carry it without dragging since it's too big and even he winces with each foot he manages to pull it. He could levitate it, but his magic is much more of a blunt instrument and he's worried about banging into walls. Like the bulkhead. And knocking a hole in the ship. So he's not gonna do that.

But he may well be disturbing literally everyone else on board because of that decision, not to mention blocking the corridor for a bit. Whoops?]

[Vash grasps his ears as his sensitive hearing picks up the easily noticeable metal scraping on metal. So don't mind him if he doesn't look particularly amused when he enters the hallway.] What are you doing?

A question I would also like answered.

[He could guess, what with the bed in the hall and headed for their room, but where Hawke thought he was going to put that, Anders wasn't sure. What Anders was sure of was that he was sporting a delightful set of three fresh scratch marks on his cheek. They weren't especially deep, but they were bright with blood Anders hadn't bothered healing. He'd been too concerned with discovering what had spooked his cat so badly.]

What in Andraste's name are you doing, Hawke?

I'm trying to improve our living situation. You know I haven't gotten a full night's sleep all week because you're all elbows.

[Excuse you if he doesn't think that's funny anymore. But when he looks up his annoyed eyebrow furrow turns into one of concern.]

What happened to your face?

[Oh, uh...]

And Captain, I'm sorry if I disturbed you.

[Vash snorts slightly at how unhappy Wolfe is with Anders's elbows, but manages to keep from outright laughing.]

Vash is fine. Really. [He's never been a big fan of titles. Although Captain is much better than the one from home.

Vash looks the bed in the hall up and down.] You might have wanted to measure the room first. I really don't know where you'll put that in the room.

[Vash rubs his chin in thought as he stares at the bed stuck in the hall in thought.]

[Even that snort gets an unamused raised brow of betryal from the healer before that irritation went back to Anders' boyfriend.]

My terrified cat is what happened to my face.

You have force magic, couldn't you...I don't know, blast it down the hall or something?

[Arguably, that would probably be just as loud. But at least it would be one big burst of loud and then done instead of this continuous agonizing screech.]

What, and punch a hole out into space? Yes Anders, brilliant plan.

[Seriously. No.

Vash has a point though. He was so wrapped up in trying to move the bed that he didn't think if there'd be space for it when he actually managed to get it where he wanted it to be.]

You didn't, did you? At least you did think about not putting a hole in the ship.

[Said under his breath with a loud sigh.]

Look, why don't you two just take my room? The bed and space is honestly bigger than what I need anyway.

Anders sends a glare Hawke's way, unimpressed with the idea that Hawke could punch a hole in the ship with a flimsy bed, but it falters under Vash's suggestion.]

Vash, I appreciate the offer, but we aren't going to take your room, that's silly. I apologize my worse half has caused such a ruckus, but you don't have to concern yourself with our sleeping arrangements.

[wolfehawke]

[At his words Anders receives a needling little glare. It doesn't have much venom in it though. He never can hold much anger towards Anders, even when he's being a bit of an arse.]

Don't just reject him out of hand, love. You've been having worse trouble sleeping than I have.

[He lowers the end of the bed he'd been holding carefully, then straightens up to look at Vash. It's easy to see why they might feel cramped on such a small bed with Adalwolfe's broad build.]

Are you sure it wouldn't be a bother, though? The captain's quarters are for the captain, after all. [He laughs awkwardly.] I don't really want to cause any problems in my first week on board, regardless of how this looks.

[goldenglasses]

[Vash casually waves a hand in front of him as if to bat away their worries or refusals.] I wouldn't have offered if I wasn't sure. I haven't been in the room very long and I've never been big on material things so going back to the smaller room will be easy for me.

And as captain it's my duty to make sure my crew is happy and getting enough sleep at night. [He winks with a grin.] And seeing as I can't change Anders's elbows giving up my room is the next best thing.

[apurrstate]

[Anders sighed but flashed Vash a small smile all the same.]

Thank you. We'd...appreciate the extra room. Perhaps we can make use of the spare room left behind in return? Something useful.

We owe you.

[wolfehawke]

Yes, we do. Anything you need at all.

[He abandons the bed for a moment, moving next to Anders and putting a hand on his shoulder, a silent apology for sniping at him and a sign of affection.]

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.

[goldenglasses]

[Vash shrugs with a smile.] Don't worry about it. I really don't see it as my room anyway. You two enjoy it.

[Although they have a point about the extra room.]

Well, I think we should ask everyone, but what if we started a small room for plants in there? [He's seen the garden Pinkie has on her ship. He'd be lying if he said he wasn't a little jealous.]

Hmm...It would certainly free up some space in the clinic if there was a room to move the herbs to.

[He had herbs in the greenhouse too, but knowing he could reach over and pluck elfroot from the source if he needed to put his mind at ease. But moving his little garden from the clinic would probably be more sanitary in the long run and allow a nice little relaxation room on board as well.]

That sounds like a perfectly good idea to me.

It's settled, then!

[Adalwolfe claps them both on the back each, delighted.]

We could just move this extra bed to storage, then, I think. In the cargo bay? No need for it in a garden unless you want to take the mattress off and use it for plants.

[goldenglasses]

No, let's put it in cargo. That way we can have a spare clean bed if someone visits or if overcrowding ever happens on the ships again.

[It's almost like he can make good decisions as a captain.]

[Oh, Anders noticed. That's why there's a teasing smirk pulling up the corner of his lips as he crosses his arms.]

Yes sir, dear Captain. Look at you, barely a few days on the job and you've already solved a minor crisis and you're issuing orders.

[wolfehawke]

Oh yes, very impressive.

[He grins widely, teasing a bit too but ready to get about moving.]

If you two want to help me, we could move this a lot more quietly this time.

[goldenglasses]

[Vash has a small blush that spreads across his cheeks at being called captain again.]

Well, I don't know if I'd call it a crisis or giving orders. More of a suggestion really.

[Vash moves toward a corner of the bed to help move it back.] Of course I could pull rank I suppose and command you two to clean up your own mess. [He's kidding as he's already leaning down getting ready to help lift the frame up.]

Quieter would probably be better before you wear out your welcome on the first day, love.

[The jab is said with some affection, but he stoops to help carry the bed as well. With three of them it would surely be quieter and faster.]
