[When the video turns on, at first it looks like a black screen. Like the video is broken. But the camera turns and if you look closely enough, you can see a dim light source coming from the background, that looks like a glowing blue lion cub if you squint. The light from that also gives a faint outline to someone with spikey hair.]

Uh....hey guys! How're ya doing?

I dunno how many have explored the forests yet, but thought you should know that if you get far enough? It gets pretty dark.

Really dark.

I mean, really, really dark.

[He's not sure Simba listens well. Regardless, he'll be waiting for Sorey at the door leading outside.]

Does he even realize you're lost?

He knows!

[Rude Dezel, Simba is a great listening]

He just...never really honed his tracking skills. He was born in a city.

Ah, Dezel, go on ahead; I'll catch up. [There's an Issue.]

You know how to look for me.

[He is the Shepherd, after all. They've got the pact.]

Stay put, Sora. I'm coming.

Okay! Won't move at all!

[He doesn't say anything for a while. He's tracking Sora and it takes all of his concentration to focus on it. A lot of people have been through here recently, so it's harder to track down one person... but he's familiar with Sora's scent, so he winds around in circles until he finds it. From there, it's a matter of following a mixture of footprints and scent.]

Sora, I should be there within the hour.

[He begins windstepping like a motherfucker.]

Okay...I'll be here.

[Sora meanwhile? does his best to feel around until he can find a spot against a tree trunk to crouch against. Simba makes sure to come near him, while watching the area in case anything shows up]

[Dezel keeps the line open. Not that there's much to hear besides the sound of rushing wind, but maybe he'll find it familiar. Occasionally he stops to make sure he's still following the right trail, and then it's back to windstepping.]

How are you holding up?

[He might be a little peeved but really, he's only concerned about Sora's well-being.]

We're okay, I'm just-

[His voice stops when in the background, a deep bellowing call can be heard]

- What was that?

It's a bird.

[Sounds a little like a frogmouth, but he's not sure.]

I'm almost there.

[The call can be heard again]

A bird? Like a nice bird?? Or something else??

Not a predatory bird. Unless you look like a fruit or an insect.

[What if it's ridiculously large? Shit.]

Keep your back against the tree and make sure Simba's ready to fight.

Okay, okay...

[He scoots up against the tree as much as he can. Simba meanwhile, steps out in front of him, trying to look as threatening as possible with his blue glowing fur. Yeah that's right. You try to take on anime lion. You try]

[There's the sound of something shifting. A very light fluttering... and then, right above Sora's head:]

MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

[Thankfully, that's when something else slams into the tree. If Sora looks up, he can sort of vaguely see Dezel wrestling a giant bird.]

[The moment the screaming starts above his head, Sora dives away from it. He scrambles to get some distance. The glowing of Simba's fur lets him see glimpses. His friend battling what looks like a bird the size of Big Bird.

Which you know, Big Bird? Definitely not going down without a fight here]

Dezel!

[Dezel's illuminated as he's forced to use his artes. His pendulums fly, then glowing green chains sprout out of the air and wrap around the bird. The very, very big bird.]

We are not food, [he declares, and unceremoniously begins punching it in the face.]

MAAAWWM!

[The bird keeps squawking and trying to attack Dezel from its wrapped up position- it's giant yellow eyes staring at him wildly like a muppet gone wild. Sora watches, freaked out and scared for his friend. Through the dim light, he sees the bird's talons slip out of the chains.]

Dezel look ou-

[Before the bird has a chance to claw him - there's an explosion of psychic energy directed at the bird, causing it to fall back with a loud squawk]

[Dezel pulls back too, as a reaction to the warning but also because of whatever just hit the bird. He's pretty sure Sora had something to do with it-- but he's not going to worry about that right now. He has a clear shot.

He concentrates for a moment, and then summons another arte-- this one an explosion of green-white energy and fire in the shape of jaws.]

Leave us alone!

[The bird is blinded and hurt enough that it snaps open its wings and tries to fly away. Dezel doesn't pursue it, though he sends a gust of wind at it to toss it as far away from Sora's location as possible.

The call of MAWM!! MAWWWWWM!!! MAAAAWWWMMM!!!!! gets fainter as the seconds pass. Dezel drops down onto the forest floor.]

Are you hurt?

[Sora covers his face as the thing flies off, trying to make sure nothing flies into his face with all the wind blowing around. Geez, no wonder his hair always looks like a mess.

He straightens up once he's sure the coast is clear]

No, I'm fine- what about you? [YOU DID TAKE ON BIG BIRD AFTER ALL] Are you okay?
