Who: Aoko Nakamori and you.
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: S.S. Wonderduck
When: Now
[ After having been forced to play through tens of dozens of quote-unquote games — to say nothing of living through not just one, but two counts of interdimensional kidnapping — Aoko's more than used to suddenly finding herself in an unfamiliar place. It's just, you know, one of those things that happens. ]
[ The confetti's kinda new. So's the pudding. ]
Wow, uhm … [ Aoko grins sheepishly into the screen, parked on her butt on the S.S. Wonderduck's bridge with confetti all up in her short, fluffy mop of hair. It looks like she's been trying to desperately brush it out with her fingers – or maybe it's just naturally a mess? Mysteries abound. (Spoilers: it's naturally a mess.) ]
[ The silence drags for one beat. Two beats. And then — ]
Knock, knock.

Because the Atroma are fucking assholes who I am personally going to beat the shit out of.

[ She pauses briefly. ]
Nightingale-san, can you tell me more about what it's like to live here? The guide you wrote mentioned things like heart games, and these augments are ... [ horrifying to think about in any depth or detail, to be honest ]

... Compared to that place, nothing much happens here.

That's something, I guess … Back there, it was always one thing after another. [ Or five things literally on top of each other, and then another thing, and then another and another and another until everyone was so tired they could barely lift their heads from their pillows. ]
… Everyone's still looking for ways to make them stop though, right? The Atroma.

[... to kill them, but Aoko would be upset if she said that out loud.]

[ Did you really think she wouldn't ask, Nightingale. ]

There's a lot of different systems of magic here, and unlike at the castle, we haven't lost it all. Recently, I've been trying to experiment with other people's forms of magic- I feel like if there's a key to victory here, it's going to be in these different magic systems that were never supposed to interact. Something isn't going to behave how it should, and if we can follow on that...

[ She all but breathes the word, and there's definitely interest in her expression. ]
Do you … do you think that somebody like me might be able to learn magic, here? If there's a chance that you can learn things from different worlds, then – it could work, right?
