002; video

Who: Hank McCoy and Erik Lehnsherr
Broadcast: fleetwide
Action: crashed ship
When: today!

[when the feed opens, the network is gifted with the bickering of two men]

I don't see why you can't do this.

[Erik is the one visible on screen, and he doesn’t look pleased about it at all. He jerks his chin towards the wall next to him, irritated.]

Because it’s your idea, and I don’t want to.

[the huff that follows is a little on the growly side]

I’m here to open paths, not send out messages. [As if to punctuate this point, Erik turns away from the camera and swipes his hand through the air. The metal wall crumples to the side with a shriek, curling up on itself like a ringpull.

The camera shifts off of Erik with a muttered "show off" to the plant life spilling out of the side of the hull, and a clawed, blue foot comes into frame to poke at a nearby pumpkin]

In any case - Erik and I are at the crashed ship, if anyone would like us to bring some of these back. If you're interested, feel free to message one of us.

As for the ship - if anyone else is planning to come out here, be careful. There's ways into the ship, but it has been here a while, so it's falling apart. We'll try to get some information about the signal while we're here, though so far we haven't had much luck.

[the camera moves back to Erik]

Do you have anything you want to add?

[Erik’s mostly occupied with pointing his flashlight into the gloom of the area beyond the wall. He does give a curt response.]

No requests for pumpkins bigger than the usual Earth-size.

[To be fair, it hasn't been nearly that long to her. And she's learning if she doesn't ask questions and just follow people, they just get annoyed. She glances around the space they've made before disappearing out of sight, just for a moment, and then drops lightly onto the ground, the claws she had been using to scale the ship disappearing into her hands as she lands, avoiding stepping on a big pumpkin.]

Someone said the ship is unstable.

[When they complained at her for cutting holes in it as she climbed.]

[His gaze flicks to the claws for a moment, noting their shape and retreat. Interesting. At her comment, he merely lifts a shoulder in a shrug.]

Yes, of course it is. It's been rotting out here for years. I know where the worst of it is.
girlverine: (Hmm?)

[Laura wasn't sure what she thought of that. Magneto, back home, was someone she respected. But she was pretty sure he couldn't have supported this entire spaceship if it came crashing down on his head. Could this one?]

Can you hold it up?
exothermia: (We live in a beautiful world)

[Letting out a breath, he looks to the ceiling, covered with vines.]

If this entire ship were to crumble on itself, nothing would stop it. The forest has already claimed it. Some parts are still more stable than others. [He can easily avoid the areas that won't accept their weight, or further punishment. Ideally, none of those lie between them and the bowels of the ship.]

You can tell which ones are which.

[It wasn't exactly a question, but close. After she said it, she tentatively stepped through the gap he had made in the wall.]
exothermia: (And upside down again)

Yes. [He watches her move inside the ship for a moment, before turning back to the heaps of vegetables and fruits littering the floor.] So nothing too dire should happen.
girlverine: (Determined)

[She was quiet for maybe thirty seconds, considering the ship around them before she finally spoke again.]

What are you hoping to find?
exothermia: (Is will I die today?)

We're looking for the source of the broadcast. [Well, Hank is. Erik is just along for destructive support.] Whatever else the interior of this ship can tell us, as well.
girlverine: (A moment of pity.)

You mean the words we're hearing.

[Laura had almost gone back to the ship because of those. She did not like things being put into her head.]

The... [He frowns for a moment, not quite following what she means. Then he realises what she's referring to - not something he's heard himself, but plenty of others have mentioned it.] Are you hearing things on the planet as well?
girlverine: (Frustrated.)

Yes.

[Laura hesitated.]

But I do not understand most of it.

I think... that's been the case with everyone who's heard such things. At least in the experience of those I've spoken to about it.
girlverine: (Lurking)

[She knew other people had been hearing it just from her lurking around. But she hadn't approached anyone.]

...Do they understand any of it?
exothermia: (On the line)

No... only a general impression of calling.
girlverine: (A moment of consideration.)

[Laura frowned.]

I feel like I understand part of it. But...not enough to matter.
