[when the feed opens, the network is gifted with the bickering of two men]

I don't see why you can't do this.

[Erik is the one visible on screen, and he doesn’t look pleased about it at all. He jerks his chin towards the wall next to him, irritated.]

Because it’s your idea, and I don’t want to.

[the huff that follows is a little on the growly side]

I’m here to open paths, not send out messages. [As if to punctuate this point, Erik turns away from the camera and swipes his hand through the air. The metal wall crumples to the side with a shriek, curling up on itself like a ringpull.

The camera shifts off of Erik with a muttered "show off" to the plant life spilling out of the side of the hull, and a clawed, blue foot comes into frame to poke at a nearby pumpkin]

In any case - Erik and I are at the crashed ship, if anyone would like us to bring some of these back. If you're interested, feel free to message one of us.

As for the ship - if anyone else is planning to come out here, be careful. There's ways into the ship, but it has been here a while, so it's falling apart. We'll try to get some information about the signal while we're here, though so far we haven't had much luck.

[the camera moves back to Erik]

[Erik’s mostly occupied with pointing his flashlight into the gloom of the area beyond the wall. He does give a curt response.]

No requests for pumpkins bigger than the usual Earth-size.

I didn't expect you'd actually agree with me.

That's a relief. This isn't a fool's errand.

It might have been if you hadn't told someone where you were going first. Are you sure you're safe?

No. [Safety is an illusion, especially out here. He shakes his head.] But we're taking precautions.

Precautions. [ Good lord. ] If either of you get hurt I'll kick your asses.

We won't. [As though he'd say otherwise. He sighs, angling the communicator towards the spilling plants in the hull.] If you want any of these, though, put your order in now.

I've already made sure Hank knows. [ Shaking her head, she settles down. ] Do you need any help bringing things back?

It would take you days to get out here just to help, you realise. We won't bring back more than we can easily carry.

I was being nice, Erik.

[He just raises an eyebrow. She also threatened to kick their asses, so it could go either way.]

[ She just gives him a look. ]

It happens, sometimes.

If need be, we'll meet you halfway.

[He continues stepping around the pumpkins on the floor, getting a closer look at the other varieties of vegetables.]

Though I'm hoping not to carry that much.

[ She frowns, watching him through the device. ]

I can't imagine too many people going wild for vegetables.

Even with the standard fare on the ships?

... Even then. They're just vegetables.

[ She's used to worse. ]

[Erik can't claim to have given much thought to better food himself. He's eaten mostly the pastes of late. Not that he had been eating particularly well even before that. Still, he shakes his head.]

Well, I'm interested. So I suppose it's fitting that I'm the one looking at them and not you.

I'm sure Hank will make sure I have something.

[ Raven shakes her head, fighting her smile. ]

I miss... Chocolate.

Was the ice cream not enough for your sweet tooth?

[It's said lightly. He doesn't miss sweets, having never been that fond of them to start with, other than making them. It's not surprising that others do.]

It's been a long time since I could sit and eat sugar, you know.

[He crouches down next to a vine, setting the communicator down so that it keeps him in view. Pulling his knife, he starts cutting from the base of the vine.]

I feel like all our conversations lately are about you mourning sugar.

Well, I miss it.

[ Raven just settles down to watch the show. ]

What else do you want to talk about?

I don't know. I'm not that interesting a conversationalist.

[Commentary on pumpkins aside. He severs the vine and pulls it away, running it through his hands to examine the flowers budding along it.]

That's a lie.

These days. [There, a marginal correction.]

That's more like it. We're all getting better at this 'talking' thing.
