There are slavers aboard the waystation who are actively seeking cargo.  [The mildly courteous tone Makie is known for is absent, though she doesn't sound angry.  Inflectionless.  Possibly a little strained, if anyone knows her well enough.] 

This is the second time I know of they've attempted to take someone, and this time they've succeeded.  His name is... Max.  He's a crew member of the Starstruck.

We know where he is.  [Thanks to polite inquiries made of a survivor.  Very polite inquiries.]  We need assistance to retrieve him. 

...and a doctor, also.  Thank you.

[Tempest is pretty fitting, she thinks. Her smile grows warmer for a moment, before it fades.]

They wanted him but not you. Do you know why, or were you just... too much for them to handle?

[she shakes her head and sighs, shifting a bit with a wince]

It sounded as though he'd had a run in with them before. The one I killed first spoke of some mistake.

As for me, I think they just wanted me dead for interfering. [she says it a little blandly, as it isn't the first time she's heard it]

[She gives a thoughtful hum, but that's really not surprising.]

That man has a knack for annoying all sorts of people, it seems. Though in this case, I imagine they more than deserved it.

That doesn't surprise me. [she didn't know Max well, but then again, she seemed to befriend the ones who were magnets for trouble.

She tilts her head at the question and faintly shakes her head]

They are not broken, so I would rather save the magic for you or for when we go get Max. I will heal them after.

As long as you're sure. [She's gonna ask the doctor to take a look at you when he gets here, just FYI.]

The ribcage is complicated and fragile area. [She sits, applying further pressure to her shoulder.] Further injury could be lethal.

[she quirks a brief smile] I know. There is no pain when I breathe, and nothing shifts when I move, so it is not a dire injury. Just painful.

When the doctor arrives, he can look at them. [she thinks she can relent to that much]

I think as long as you wrap them, they shouldn't take further damage.
