Who: Kaidan Alenko
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: Marsiva
When: Today
Action
[Kaidan doesn't panic like most people would, but it would be a bold-faced lie to imply that waking up on the Marsiva did not come as a shock. The ship runs as silently as the Normandy, so at first he doesn't quite realize he's somewhere else entirely, but opening his eyes dispels that illusion quickly. He's on his feet in seconds, eyes wide and alert]
What the?!
[But the outburst ends there. Having a temper tantrum wouldn't change anything, after all. Instead, he switches to calmly assessing the situation. His armor is piled near the end of the bed and he sets himself to methodically gearing up, inspecting each piece before strapping or snapping it into place. The onboard computers seem to be functional, but his omni-tool and guns are gone. Not surprising for a kidnapping, but it makes him feel naked even with the armor. He lifts a hand to the back of his neck in another moment of mild panic for his implant port, and finds it in place nestled among the bristle of hair. Just to be sure, he flares his biotics experimentally, a shimmer of blue crackling briefly over his body. N
Not disarmed entirely then. Good.
With that, Kaidan moves to get a better look at his prison]
Broadcast
[Some time later, Kaidan sits in mess hall with his communications device, giving it something a skeptical leer. Physical keyboard...how antiquated. It feels a little strange, but it's nothing he can't deal with.
The idea that he's been cut off from anyone and everything he's ever known, however, less so.]
This is going to a shot in the dark but, is there anyone from Earth or the Systems Alliance here? This is Major Alenko, requesting a sitrep. Or...anyone really. I don't think who we work for matters a hell of a lot right now.
[Except maybe Cerberus. He can't shake the idea that the Illusive Man is to blame for this somehow, but he'll take what he can get.
He lets out a restrained sigh of frustration.]
Look...somebody has me confused with an extranet celebrity and I'm not...I'm not that guy. And if this about the war...I'm just one man. It won't stop us. It won't stop Shepard. So I don't know why I'm here.

Video;
You're with the Drift Fleet, anyway, so I guess now you're kind of an official celebrity if you like it or not. Yay for you. I'm Sokka.
video
Ah...well, good to meet you. Should I start practicing my autographs?
video
You can, but no one'll appreciate them. Despite being actual celebrities, we never get to meet our fans. Rude, right?
I mean, okay, they probably don't exist, and this is all a twisted game, but if you're gonna sell a lie, at least really sell it.
no subject
I'm not sure if I'm disappointed in that or not. But it makes sense. They probably wouldn't want us to have contact with anyone on the outside.
[He frowns offscreen for a moment
This is obviously a closed network, but I don't suppose anyone's been able to tap into any others? Comm buoys or relay stations? Anything like that?
no subject
[It's sketchy, is what it is. ]
Nothing the Marsiva has. But our comms people have managed to check out other things-abandoned ships, old waystations- stuff like that. At the moment, though, it's like having pieces of a puzzle that don't fit together just yet.

Earth, yeah, but the rest doesn't mean anything. Whatever war's going on for you, it doesn't mean shit to Atroma. They're the ones - one, whatever - that brought you here.
video
[Could this be another Leviathan? Atroma could be an asset, if that's true, but it would be an asset with some truly strange priorities.]
From what I hear, nobody really knows what - or who - we're dealing with.
video
No, no one really does. Not even the people who've been here from the start. We visit different worlds and places. They probably would want to keep us as far from our home worlds - and galaxies - as possible. That said, what the fuck is a Reaper?
video
[Very few people did, before, of course, the Reapers were literally crashing down on their heads. Kaidan understood why that was, even if he couldn't find them blameless for their ignorance and inaction. It was hard to accept something that world-shattering.
Much like he was having trouble accepting where he was now. Food for thought.]

Sitrep is; we're on a reality video series, I guess? We can't leave. You'll be assigned on a ship later in the week.
video
That seems to be the party line, but there has to be more to it...
video
I'm still pretty new myself. At this point your guess is as good as mine. [She shrugs.] I do intend on finding out as much as I can, though.
video
If there's any chance of it getting me back home, I'm right there with you.
[He hesitates visibly]
Look...uh...don't take this the wrong way, but, uh...are you an AI?
video
[I'm confusing, she thinks. She's never really had to explain herself in too much detail, even those she had met in the Box were already familiar with Exos because of Argos. Turns out it's really hard to describe yourself when you're not even sure quite what you are.]

video;
[ he nods. ]
None of us really know why we're here, but the official story is we're here to entertain seriously bored aliens. Odds are whatever you have going on back home plays no part, other than, I guess, making you interesting to watch.
video
I feel like I was an odd choice there...
[Something else Winn said jumps to mind, though, and he drops his hand, leaning towards the screen just a bit]
Wait...so you're telling me, not only have I been kidnapped -- possibly to somewhere else in the universe -- but I've time-traveled too?
video
If it helps any, you're really not alone on that one. [ ok he gets why he's gaining popularity but still, when he first arrived it all felt like a terrible joke at his expense.
actually, still does. ]
Somewhere else in the multiverse. As far as I know so far, no one on the fleet is a native to whatever reality we're in. But yeah, potentially. Some people are from the distant past or future, some people are pretty close together, some people are from realities so different you can't even determine an equivalent year. I know it sounds overwhelming and headache inducing but here's the good news - I know someone who makes a mean headache potion, and most people'll be up to helping you with whatever you need.
I'm Winn, by way. We haven't worked out a video-chat handshake equivalent yet but I'm open to suggestions -
video
[He breathes out a laugh] I have an idea about that, but considering you're not using holographic interfaces...well... [Seems moot, basically, and he trails off with a shrug]
Anyway I'm...[He hesitates, realizing he's kind of introduced himself]...uh, Kaidan. Nice to meet you.
video
Oooh, we should get us some of those.
[ he nods, smiling at the introduction. he has trouble with those, he either doesn't do them until well into the conversation - usually when the other person reminds him that hey we've been talking for a while a name would be nice - or he does it too much. ]
Nice to meet you too. I'm the engineer over on the Tourist, you'll be assigned to a ship soon and then you'll be able to shuttle freely between them so if you need me - that's where I usually am.

On the upside? That means you're way more familiar with outer space than the rest of us.
video
video
[After all, it's not every day that the Fleet pulls in someone who's actually traveled from planet to planet.]
You're military, though - most of us are civilians, or at least, people not typically involved in that line of work.
video
Kaidan runs a hand over his hair as the reality sets in]
Do guys see much action?

We did have one enemy attack, but that was well over a year ago.
