Who: Charles Xavier + You
Broadcast: Voice
Action: SS Heron
When: Now

I had a lecture planned but I realized it felt rather redundant. We have huge list of lectures and while each topic is interesting, I feel it lacks the feedback aspect that's so important in our education. To quote one of my favourite books . . .

"The best thing about being sad is to learn something. That is the only thing that never fails. You may grow old and trembling in your anatomies, you may lie awake at night listening to the disorder of your veins, you may miss your only love, you may see the world about you devastated by evil lunatics, or know your honour trampled in the sewers of baser minds. There is only one thing for it then—to learn. Learn why the world wags and what wags it. That is the only thing which the mind can never exhaust, never alienate, never be tortured by, never fear or distrust, and never dream of regretting. Learning is the thing for you"

So, I put the question to the Fleet. What would you like to learn and how can we help each other? I hold classes on the Iskaulit for training of powers, but I'd be happy to broaden my classes for other subjects and needs.

All you need to do is ask.

[Erik snorts at his tone, then fall silent for a moment.]

If you're not teaching or learning, you could try creating.

Yes. It's a different use of energy... a different way of thinking.

Well-- [He shifts a bit, clothes rustling.] Which of your talents would you say lend themselves towards creativity?
exothermia: (Guilty guilty)

That would have been my first thought. [A number of other things come to mind as well, but it's not for Erik to tell Charles what to do creatively.] So, you could try writing without purpose.

It can be interesting to do.

There's also more structured things, like poetry.

[He isn't certain how enjoyable that sort of thing is, though. Erik's written for his own needs before, some terrible mix of diary and stream of consciousness, but poetry always seemed like something too lofty.]

[Just for a moment, Erik remembers when Charles had to write poetry for a task, back in Kyriakos. Neither of them had had particularly good ideas about it, but... he shakes his head, chasing the thought away.]

Creativity isn't about that. Wouldn't you tell your students the same?

Then take it from me instead.
