I had a lecture planned but I realized it felt rather redundant. We have huge list of lectures and while each topic is interesting, I feel it lacks the feedback aspect that's so important in our education. To quote one of my favourite books . . .

"The best thing about being sad is to learn something. That is the only thing that never fails. You may grow old and trembling in your anatomies, you may lie awake at night listening to the disorder of your veins, you may miss your only love, you may see the world about you devastated by evil lunatics, or know your honour trampled in the sewers of baser minds. There is only one thing for it then—to learn. Learn why the world wags and what wags it. That is the only thing which the mind can never exhaust, never alienate, never be tortured by, never fear or distrust, and never dream of regretting. Learning is the thing for you"

So, I put the question to the Fleet. What would you like to learn and how can we help each other? I hold classes on the Iskaulit for training of powers, but I'd be happy to broaden my classes for other subjects and needs.

I think some judging when it comes to experimentation is necessary so that it does not happen at all.

To play devil's advocate, judging doesn't keep other people from doing it, so why not gain yourself?

I have plenty of things without compromising my character. I rather stick with being someone I can live with.

You consider your character important, then?

I consider my integrity to be important, yes. At least to myself.

And does that do you much good in space?

[axiomed]

It's good to me no matter where I go. What's the difference between space or any other world?

Lack of general gravity or greater society, I suppose.

Societal definitions aside, I care about what I think, feel or what feels is right for me. And how, in turn, would like to be treated.

Therefore, I shouldn't need a society or a set location to behave in a creditable way.

Maybe you should teach ethics. It's practical, and sounds like you care about it.

[axiomed]

Perhaps. But teaching older people, especially young adults about ethics often comes up as preachy.

These are conclusions that takes time and experience to reach not just one old person telling you about them.

That's everything. Can't teach a man to shoot without first handing him a gun.

I don't think the two are comparable. It's a weapon. And sometimes, weapons fail you.

So do ideals. Anyway, I wish you luck with whatever you decide to teach, whether or not you end up with something interesting to me.
