(Maedhros is sitting on his bed, his hair brushed and draped over one shoulder. He has a mechanical hand laying beside him and he is preparing to strap it to his arm. It is not often that he shows what is left of that arm - that nub, truly - and the scars are numerous even though the cut that severed it was clean.)

Atar or Curufin would have delighted in this, I think. I feel hardly worthy of it.

(A small, tired smile curls his lips as he, at last, raises his arm, new hand attached. The fingers bend, flexing and he touches them in wonder.)

My thanks to the engineers on our fleet. Your craftsmanship and your patience have left me with a much easier existence.

(OOC: If you would like your particular engineer to have been one of the ones who aided Maedhros, assume it is so!)

(He can withstand a bite or two if it leads to understanding his brother better. His expression softens and he drags Maglor into his arms, tucking their heads close together.)

[ No matter how angry his brother's arms around him always bring instant comfort, Maglor latching on ]

Then don't leave me alone again!

(He hums in his throat, rubbing over Maglor's back.)

Would you like for me to share a room with you? I do not mind sleeping on the floor.

You want to be with Fingon.

[ He says sadly, but he does settle under Maedhros' hands ]

Not right now. Not when my brother needs me. Finno is fine. (He tilts his head curiously.) I am choosing you, Kano.

Do you mean it or are you only pitying me?

I mean it. You are my heart and my song. If you need me - if you are filled with fear or doubt - I refuse to leave you.

Then... I ... I miss you, Nelyo. I would like you to stay awhile.

Then I shall. (He smiles affectionately, moving to rest their foreheads together.) I love you, Kano.

[ And just like that, the tension seeps from his shoulders and he nods ]

I love you too, Nelyo. Thank you.

(He feels the change and he lifts the blanket so that they can both share it.)

I shall move my things later. Grandfather will enjoy being able to find us so easily.

You don't have to stay. [ he says shyly ] Not forever.

Just for a little while?

I will remain with you for a few...cycles...as they call it, at least. (Since there is no such thing as day/night in space.)

Thank you. [ Maglor snuggles against him ]

I missed you, you know.

Oh? (He feigns surprise.) Why didn't you say something? I had no idea.
