Who: Jade Harley
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: SS Marsiva
When: 12/1
[ well, jade can't say that she was expecting to wake back up here, because mostly she'd forgotten that "here" had existed for a pretty long time. her expression is still a little stunned when the video broadcast starts from her bunk on the marsiva. ]
Hey! Long time no see. Or - um, never see, I guess, maybe? Considering I have no idea who's here still.
[ has she been gone a day or a year? she can't really tell. happy birthday to her. ]
Soooo... how are things in space, guys?

Cold. Void-y. Super space-y.
I'd kill someone for a hamburger right about now.
[NOT LITERALLY, it's just. you can only handle so much protein food]
video
So just like normal, then. Have you been here long?
video
Not really, unless you consider one month long. S'not all that bad here, although I was serious about the hamburger.
video
I would not consider a month long by any stretch of the imagination, nope! You should be able to get a burger eventually, though. I guess you haven't been to any super-civilized planets since you got here?
video
Nah. The one the fleet was parked at when I arrived wasn't civilized at all.
There was a jungle, though. Lots of jungle. And some cool looking birds.
Video
Oh, same old, same old. You missed a creepy magic planet.
Video
I've had my fill of those, thank you! I'm happy with the Marsiva for now.

[ she's dying to know, and clay isn't being forthcoming enough for her impatience. ]

Oh. That sounds... important.

video;;
There was a weird planet with a cryptic message? [ Is that even the least bit helpful? ]
There were mice the size of dogs.
video;;
Annndd.... we'd probably notice if we were close enough when a star died. They are not super subtle about that kinda thing.
video;;
[ But alien planet and all.. ]
No, they're really not. I mean, if you had the option to cave in on yourself or explode when you died, would you?
[ Not that people exploding would be anything near cool, but if you were a star, why the hell not. ]
video;;
[ but her words are casual, amused, not particularly upset or broody. ]
Maybe we'll get to see an exploding star eventually. The ships always take us to interesting places, at least.
video;;
Yeah, you think so? It'd be pretty cool to see as long as we weren't exploding, too.

[They didn't talk much, but eyyyyy, old co-pilot!]
We went down to a planet that was covered in forests, and it was really dark and had humongous wildlife all over! We found some ships that had crash landed there, and one that looked a lot like the Marsiva! And a weird message that we all tried to figure out, but we finally got the translation for it just a few days ago!
[Yeah. Even when things are scary and unsettling, space is always awesome to him.]
no subject
How'd you get the translation? What did it say??
no subject
As we were leaving though, the rest of the translation just... popped into our heads. I'm guessing they used the same technology, or whatever they used, to send that word to us in the first place.
no subject
[ and she is legitimately sad to have missed out. meanwhile, though, she's on the metaphorical edge of her set. ]
But what was the rest of the translation?
no subject
[Color Eugene surprised. Pleased, but definitely surprised.]
I don't think space changed too much since you left, but I'm definitely not the expert on that one. I, uh. Figured out an ice-cream maker, though?
no subject
Thank you! And, uh - it is technically my birthday, so I think technically you are obligated to share that ice cream with me when I get off the Marsiva.

Chocolate? Chocolate seems like it'd be good.

[Which isn't saying much. It only takes a few hours to whip up a batch, and that's at a lazy multitasking pace. He gives a grin right back, that excitement contagious]
Do you think you're going to head back to your old ship?
no subject
[ she's laughing at the absurdity of the sentence, and in truth? partially from giddiness at being back. it's nice, being around the living again. hopeful in a way that the dream bubbles don't let her be. ]
And I'm not sure! It depends on if there's room. Or, uh, if they want me? I'm not even really sure who's on it anymore.
no subject
[It's the goofiest kind of sarcasm, all faux-smug and smirking. Though in Eugene's estimation, having a plant magician back on board would raise the ship's coolness rating several significant notches.]
no subject
You just want me to grow stuff for you. I'm onto you.

I wanna make a pie.
no subject
I have had pie crust figured out for months.
no subject
[ she's glaring up at the ceiling. ]
I demand a do-over!
no subject
Wow. You're pretty upset about crust for someone who wanted pie a minute ago.

no subject
How ya doin', Jade?
no subject
[ she'll take it as a hello, and she appreciates it. ]
Ehe. I think that answers both of your questions.
no subject
It is nice to have familiar faces back, 'nd familiar faces who remember this place. [Because that was always tough, running into someone you knew but they didn't know you. Remy had mixed experiences with that, some he had taken the chance to get to know again, others he avoided.]
