Who: Garrett
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: Marsiva
When: Around now! A+ description.
[Garrett is not about to completely come out of the bag with the vampire thing. For one, he's spent a very hefty portion of his life hiding it — and for another, he doesn't want to be burned at a stake, barbaric and outdated and annoyingly Salem as that is (he was around for that kind of mindset long after the trials ended, and really, entertaining the idea of burning lovely women simply because they're exotic minds?)]
You know, the swimming test for witches was the the stupidest thing I've ever heard growing up. Frenzied morons would basically throw a suspected witch in a lake and if she floated, she was a witch. And if she sank like a stone, she wasn't. But what is the person if they doggy paddle in a mad panic? A witch who didn't learn to swim?
[There's a heavy humor in his voice, the kind one picks up with regards to death, to dark humor, and if there were such a thing as a verbal eyeroll, it'd be here.]
But this place! Fascinating to see so many of you open about your supernatural talents. Your unholy inhumaness, should you self-subscribe to such a dark description. As someone from such a boring, uneventful world, I'm just excited at the idea of a ghost on a roadside; no, we're pretty boring in hindsight, compared to you lot. I bet you all have some interesting tales to tell. And maybe some tails under those ugly ship-standard uniforms. Is it strange, being so open, or is that also a normality in your world?
I'm stranded aboard a ship floating through infinite space; humor me while I slowly die of boredom.
[ALSO I'M GONNA START GETTING HUNGRY????
But that is for another day to worry. His throat is only similar to human strep, at the moment.
Gross.]

[He's just so curious, so eager to learn. Such new ground! He's never been this out of his element. So many years walking the earth, but this — much more extreme, much more interesting.]
I don't suppose you've had Tolkien jokes thrown at your expense.
no subject
[Kai's own sense of humor tends towards the dry side of things.]
I tend to get more insults than jokes, and those don't need to be cultured. But there will always be wars over differences, maybe having different species just makes things easier on that front.
no subject
[Speaking of humor, lookit that there.]
There will always be wars, period. But it's nice to have a little downtime, don't you think?
This place — is a bit dull, but hey, it's clean. And there's not a musket or IED in sight.
no subject
And don't be too fooled. The weapons here might be shinier, but they're definitely still weapons.
no subject
But — ah, then there are weapons here on the ships, outside of the Marsiva. He'll have to be careful with those. After all, science fiction has taught him to be weary of laser guns.]
What sort of weapons might these ships have?
no subject
More the shooty kind than the stabby kind.
[That's totally specific.]
Personal and ship-based.
no subject
It works for me either way; I don't care to use weapons these days. They could poke someone's eye out!
no subject
I suppose there's space for pacifists, as long as you don't mind there's someone else doing the shooting.
no subject
Garrett smiles from behind the feed, unseen.]
I don't mind at all. I prefer a spirited boxing match, more than anything.
no subject
As long as they're not shooting at him (with iron), he's good.]
I don't recommend you'd go boxing against any witches. You'd likely lose.
no subject
I've got to say, it sounds like an amazingly fun challenge.
no subject
I feel like I've spent half my life surrounded by people like you.
For the record, there's nothing honorable or fun about being killed by something that outclasses you.
no subject
[He raises his eyebrows.]
And hey! You don't know how tough I am. I throw a really nice right hook!
no subject
I'm pretty sure no witch worth her salt would let you close enough for that hit to land.
no subject
You don't practice magic yourself? I thought elves had some semblance of magical skill.
no subject
Yeah, but I was raised by a human.
[ Which is the simplest -- if not entirely accurate -- way Kai can think of to explain all of why he's not really elfin, in some of the ways that do count.]
no subject
That makes a large difference, does it?
no subject
[ Better off being more human than elfin. ]

[Also, he has guns. Fancy space guns.]

I'd much rather keep the company and friendship of a witch, myself.
