Who: Sansa Stark + YOU
Broadcast: Text, fleetwide.
Action: Blue Fish
When: This morning.

Jon Snow and Bran Stark have left the Fleet. Condolences to those who may have befriended them while they were here; Gods-willing, we shall see them again.

[ sansa's message is short -- abrupt, and almost stripped of its emotion. she avoids broadcasting anything but simple text because she does not trust herself to maintain her mask, so to speak. as it is, she's cried too much. losing bran and jon feels like opening old wounds packed with grief. it makes her feel like a little girl again: weak, and mewling.

but she does add: ]
I dread leaving, as they have left. Do others in the Fleet want to stay?

[ later, she can be found sitting on the floor of her personnel office. she has taken the furs from her bunk and has spread them across the ground, and she's allowed jon's direwolf pups free rein of the cozy and comfortable area. sansa's eyes are red-rimmed, and they betray every lie she tells when she insists she's as well as can be expected. but at least her spirits lift, a little, when she's playing tug-of-war with the pups.

they bring her a bittersweet joy. ]

I'm glad to have met him. Perhaps one day he'll come back. You can't really tell with this fleet sometimes.

Is that why you don't want to leave as they did? Because you'll be leaving people behind suddenly? Or is it you don't want to return home at all?
[He's not heard very good things of John's home planet.]

From what I've heard of John's world it didn't sound too- [The text stops for a moment as Vash considers the right word he should use.] -welcoming. So I can understand wanting to stay.

[Vash isn't sure he really wants to focus on talking about how she may not see them again even if she goes home. Not when she just lost them and she clearly doesn't have a lot of love for her home.

So instead he decides to answer her question as well.]
I think if I could choose I wouldn't mind staying here. I have a few things I really need to take care of back home, but these Plants we visit is much more interesting than mine.

Well, for one it's a desert planet. So it has the same weather all the time. Hot, dry, and even more hot. Not to mention that you get sand in uncomfortable places every day.

No, I like the changing weather we can see on the planets we visit. All the greener and plant life too.

Nope. Never. It's too hot. We're just happy when it rains. It's so dry where I'm from even rain doesn't happen every often.

My Planet has two suns. So they both do a good job making sure everything stays hot and dry.

Gets pretty cold at night sometimes, but no snow.

Well, it doesn't. Not really. Well, cactus grow. They don't need much water.

They're a tough plant with needles all over them. They store a lot of water inside them and can survive in very harsh conditions.

[Vash takes a moment to draw a crude doodle of a short, stubby cactus with a bunch of dashes sticking out of it to show the needles.]

I- [was thrown into] -fell into a patch of them once. I would not recommend it!

Exactly! Many bigger creatures don't try to eat the plants because they have protection. Of course, if you know how to handle them they can really be a life saver if you get lost in the desert.

Well, they hold lots of water inside their bodies. So if you're out of water and lost in the desert eating a cactus can keep you going another day.

As long as you're careful about the needles of course.
