001. ☾ Have you seen our slutty beanie baby? { Network / Video }

Who: Cecil Harvey and you!
Broadcast: Network video, open to all
Action: N/A
When: Oct. 10th (permanent posting)

[ A new video post has been made to the network and it's actually labeled as "URGENT!" in hopes of baiting a majority of people into viewing it. When the video begins, viewers are treated to the sight of the S.S. Wonderduck's modest little armory and a young woman in a charcoal flex armor suit standing before a cage of what could be recognized as various weaponry, though it's likely that any of the fleet has seen things like these objects before. The woman herself might also be a peculiar thing to look at, with silver-white hair and a practically unnaturally fair complexion. Still, she has a kind and trustworthy face, and she speaks with calm, authoritative evenness that just manages not to sound cold at the same time. ]

Good day, fleet. My name is Cecil Harvey. I've been outfitted it seems with some sort of arms augment and, as you've probably heard by now, I've been named captain of the S.S. Wonderduck as well. I have a few requests and propositions to make to all of you.

It seems that many of us are fortunate enough to have old friends and past acquaintances among the fleet, but I think it's safe to say that in spite of this, most of us are not especially comforted. I know everyone is frightened, angry, confused... and as I am one of the few with experience to a setting such as this, I know that adapting to deep space can be difficult, especially on the human body and psyche.

My friends and I, scattered amongst the ships that make up the fleet as we are, can't help but be worried that perhaps there are other friends of ours out there, having trouble adjusting, and I'm sure a lot of you are in the same situation.

Therefore, I propose that-- I encourage all personnel to make use of this post to search for their own loved ones and to help each other find theirs as well, so that we may, as a whole, work together towards keeping everyone safe and healthy. Simply because we are split up into smaller groups does not mean we cannot cooperate or that we must remain detached from each other.

In that same vein, Captain Zoe Hange of the S.S. Red Fish and I have spoken in a casual manner about attempting to pool our resources. Obviously, we all have our advantages and we are all lacking in other areas. For example, my crew does not have official medical personnel, but we do have an official pilot.

I've been doing some digging around the network and it seems that if we look deep enough, we can in fact access a roster of the fleet's ships and personnel. Though useful, that does not exactly tell us what each crew member is capable of outside of our Atroma-given abilities, so, I'm asking for volunteers who would like to offer their services in whatever it is they excel at in case of an emergency. My fellow captains, I'm looking to you to motivate your own crews and discuss with them their comfort levels about this, if they do not come forward themselves and you believe they would be a boon to the fleet.

But please, remember-- do not force anyone against their will to participate.

Thank you for your time and all of your help.

[ And the message ends. ]
