[Coil had been out in the snow for a while, but the cold isn't bothering him yet. his bare hands are obviously chilled, but his hood is up and he's bundled up to his nose in a warm gray scarf. and out beyond the settlement where the Red Fish is parked, where the snowfields are flat and pristine before scrubby stands of trees, he has been spending his time stepping very methodical paths through the snow. if someone had spied on him from overhead, they might have seen the huge geometric pattern that he was creating in the snow, but from from eye-level... it just kind of looks like he's wandering around.

eventually, he allows himself to take a break, sitting down on an exposed rock where the earth turns craggy and rises up out of the snow near the shrubline. there, he busies with his communicator--uploading notes and sending out a message or two with frozen fingers.

for a few minutes, his attention leaves the shapes that he'd been drawing in the snow... but if anyone happens to wander through and mess up his work, they'll pull his focus back in a snap.]

[ It's way colder outside than he's used to, bundled in pretty much every layer that he has. Georgia very seldom dropped below 40 degrees, and Carl can remember once when he was a kid that there was even snow. It feels bitter cold, but he's not about to stay inside when there's a new place to explore.
