[Rey is flushed with delight, laughing as she narrowly avoids being hit in her Zero-G Kart.]

More people need to try these out! [They might be tricky to operate, but she likes the challenge.] Just try to hit me! You won't come close.

[Her grin isn't cocky, exactly, but it is as close as she can manage. She wants to be a convincing target!]

Is anyone else working at the hotel? I've picked up a job with security and the hours aren't bad.

And besides, I haven't forgotten you have an unfair advantage in any type of battle scenario.

I wouldn't use the Force. [That would be cheating.] This is just for fun.

You take laser guns and try to hit your opponent.

So it's a simulated target practice.

I've done that before, it's a part of standard Imperial and First Order training for every officer.

[Except he's out of practice since he lived on the bridge of a star destroyer for so long.]

I was going to call it more of a game, but that isn't wrong.

[She grimaces.] We could both use practice, surely?

A valid point. I would be concerned with you becoming proficient with a blaster but I suppose that's the least of my worries.

[Given she could use the Force and could already trash Kylo Ren.]

[Her lips twitch helplessly.] I could become proficient without you, you know. [But she extended the invitation for a reason!]

Blasters aren't much use against the Force. [If Ren's abilities are anything to go by. She hasn't tried that trick herself.]

[He cut the feed until she contacted him later.]

[She will wait for him, grinning as she chooses a laser blaster. Oh she is likely holding it wrong, but she is enthusiastic.]

[He is, as always, prompt and arrives on time. As soon as he saw her, he paused, looking down at the blaster- or at least what passed for one.]

That's the weapon we'll be using?

Of course! [She points it at him playfully.] It's a game; I told you. I think these vests vibrate when we're hit.

[He accepted one of the guns, taking a moment to inspect it.]

Hardly meets the standard of a training weapon but I suppose it will do.

[He looked up at her then, frowning.] Have you even fired a blaster before?

[He could tell that at least she wasn't used to even holding one.]

Why would it? [She blinks and tilts her head, shrugging.] A couple of times? I managed to hit some of your men.

[Except for Kylo Ren.]

Am I holding it wrong?

I don't know how you managed to shoot anyone except yourself. Even I could knock that from you, your grip is unsteady.

[He gestured for her to follow him, this wouldn't be so much a game as target practice for him. He didn't put on the vest as clearly she would need some work.]

Really? I was never really taught... [She frowns a little, watching him skeptically.] What about your vest?

You're using it as target practice. But I don't want you to get used to shooting me.

[Perhaps he should worry about teaching her these things but in the grand scheme of things, the Force is a bigger concern.]

Clearly, you weren't. My training isn't as in depth as a stormtrooper's would be but I know enough of the basics to be able to shoot in combat situations.

[Her eyebrows raise and she is torn between confusion and amusement.]

You shouldn't take it personally if I shoot at you. Not here.

I'm not sure I want to shoot like a Stormtrooper.

I'm not teaching you how to shoot like a stormtrooper. Stormtroopers are trained with different objectives than an officer is.

Besides, if you're going to shoot me, at least do it properly. [He put the vest on one of the crates, propping it up before walking back to her.]

It's difficult not to take it personally when you're a member of the Resistance and a Jedi. But, I will ask one thing in return for me teaching you how to shoot properly.
