[Her grin isn't cocky, exactly, but it is as close as she can manage. She wants to be a convincing target!]

Is anyone else working at the hotel? I've picked up a job with security and the hours aren't bad.

[Ravi is never going to tire from seeing recognizable faces on his screen, but the opportunity to fly around in a Zero-G Kart eclipses even that.]

Are you offering lessons? Because I've been itching to give it a try!

I've also taken a couple of shifts as the pool towel boy. They didn't think I was fit for the kitchen, for whatever reason.

[The obvious reason is that he's still kind of a sub-par cook.]

I wouldn't mind! They're interesting and I'm not an expert, but I don't think anyone needs to be to have fun.

I'm not much of a cook, so I didn't even try to get hired there.

Well, I happen to be a tremendous pool towel boy, and I bet you do pretty well as a security guard, so we're probably in the right positions.

[She will be beside her kart, waiting for him, shifting eagerly from foot to foot.]

[Ravi waves when he spots her and jogs over with all the enthusiasm of a kid let loose in a candy store.]

Hullo! Pool Boy Ravi Chakrabarti, at your service and ready to learn!

[And he holds out his hand with a grin towards her.]

[His energy is just as contagious as her own - maybe more so! Rey looks a little shy, reaching for his hand to shake.]

Security Guard Rey and I'm ready to teach! [She motions at the kart.] Get in and I will show you.

[At least he's learned to mask his excitement over meeting pop culture icons like Rey, even if he's doing a happy jig on the inside while shaking her hand.]

[There's nothing mocking or sarcastic in his tone though as he hops into the Zero-G Kart as gracefully as he can. Which isn't really all that graceful.]

[Enthusiastic people like them tend to pile into ships and karts like happy puppies. Rey bites back a laugh and joins him a second later, pointing at a hole by the sphere that is used for maneuvering.]

Put your hand in there to power it up. You have to keep it there and use your other hand to steer.

Sounds easy enough, even if I generally make it a rule not to stick my hands into strange holes I can't see into.

[Thrusting his hand into the hole and getting his hand on the steering thingie!]

... how does the steering work, again?

Good rule. [Rey had been hesitant until she had examined the kart further.] This one is safe enough.

[She thinks. The gyroscopic steering is trickier.]

I suggest...little motions...in the direction you want to go. It's...pretty sensitive.

[Nope! Accidental big motion made! And Ravi and his Zero-G Kart are hurtling to the side, leaving his surprised yelp in its wake.]
