[The Interfaith Center has been a busy place lately, with everyone getting ready for the various holidays and solstices that roll around at this time of year. Misty is right in the thick of preparations and over the past couple of weeks she's been preparing a special surprise for the fleet: a Christmas tree! The little spindly evergreen sapling she obtained from the planet below has grown proud and straight and tall with vibrant green needles, thanks to her magic. She's very proud of her handiwork - if only Cordelia could see! But... she needs help with decorations. So she puts out a call to the fleet.]

Hey y'all, it's Misty!

[She beams into the camera, her face slightly too close to the lens, before turning her comm towards the tree, sitting in the Interfaith Center in all its bare glory.]

For those of you who celebrate Christmas, I got us a tree! And I figured it'd be fun to get together and decorate it! I don't have any lights or anything for it, but we can make our own ornaments, no problem. So I'll be hangin' around today and tomorrow if you want to stop by...

[She turns the camera back to herself.]

Oh and if you don't celebrate Christmas, but you got another holiday this time of year you need help decorating or cooking for, you can give me a call! I want this to be a good holiday season for everyone.

You're welcome. I'm glad you like it.

[ Automatically his hand comes up to card gently through her hair ]

I do, it's beautiful. You've improved so quickly! It's a wonderful gift and I will treasure it.

[Encouraged by his touch, she curls closer to his side.]

I thought... Well, a lot of people I care about have left and there's no time to say goodbye or anything so... I figured you'd have this at least, if I leave.

Oh, well, okay. Maglor smiles at her and continues ]

Thank you for thinking of me. Can you show me how it is done? I will leave you one similar, that way, we will both be able to keep the memory of each other.

Yeah, won't be no trouble at all.

I will have to think of something suitable for you. [ Maglor murmurs ]

I was working on a few new songs anyway - I am sure there will be one that suits you.

I'm sure I'll love whatever you come up with. [She takes his hand in hers.] Your music is always so beautiful.

[ He smiles at her shyly ]

Thank you - I do try, so I am glad you think so.

I know so. You've been blessed with music, Maglor.

Thank you, Misty. [ He smiles radiantly at her ]

I have always known I was talented, but to know it holds true across worlds and times is a boon. Also, [ he adds dryly ] Hazardous to my ego.

[She laughs.]

Well good thing you got that cloud there then.

Probably. [ He laughs with her and holds up the tattered effort again, squinting at it ]

Either way, this is definitely not going on the decorations. Best I start again!

[Misty happily hands him another stack of paper.]

I'm going to try too!

[ He grins at her ]

At least we both know what not to do, this time?

Right!

[Though as she folds her paper, a frown develops.]

Except I'm not really sure what we should do instead.

[ Maglor taps his lips with the scissors as he eyes his piece thoughtfully ]

Nor I. Well, we will have to experiment, I suppose.

[ He folds his tattered cloud and eyes it thoughtfully ]

Here, and here, I cut too close together, I think, see?

Yeah, yeah, I see and I think... maybe not fold it here?

[She points at the spot.]

Aye, I think so. And here, I think as well.

So maybe more like... [Misty experimentally folds her paper.] This?

[Misty nods, then eagerly gets to work cutting and folding.]

This kinda makes me feel like a kid again, when they'd have us do crafts in school. I always liked that part - music and art class. Wasn't so great at the rest.

[ He laughs softly ]

I never thought of paper as being useful for craft - I was always more like to borrow it to jot my latest musical idea down. [ He admits ]

My brothers used to joke that my hands were always ink stained.

I could definitely see that!

[Especially since she's willing to bet he wasn't exactly using a ballpoint pen.]

But there's all sorts of things you can do with paper. There's this thing called origami that they do in Japan - that's one of the countries on Earth, Makie's from there - where they use paper to make little animals and plants and buildings... I don't know how to do it but it's really cool!

[ Ink everywhere, ayup ]

It sounds very interesting - I wonder if we could find files or books to teach us how?

Maybe. But most of the time the waystations just have like... romance novels and stuff.
