[docking at the hotel had been something of a godsend. Originally he was going to attempt to cook himself, but with all of the restaurants at the hotel available, he opted to choose one of them instead. Likely for the best, because he wasn't the greatest cook.

He'd done his research, however, and the dinner - while nothing overly fancy - still had some traditional Christmas and Hanukkah foods - or at least, as close as they could get to them, all things considered. He tried, okay.

But it was a holiday dinner for the four of them, and that was the most important part. It was a first for their family, after all]

I don't know. Something a little less formal, but this is nice. I like it.

[ Her hand finds his and squeezes gently. ]

I wasn't really aiming for formal, it's the restaurant that sort of inspires it.

[he squeezes back, tangling their fingers together]

It's lovely. I think it's perfect, really, for all of us.

[ Shifting, she moves her chair a little closer to Hank's, beaming. ]

Ah - well, I guess we'll see if it is.

[so far so good, though. He lets his hand fall beneath the table, finding hers and curling his fingers around it]

Shh, I already told you it was.

[ She leans close against him, ignoring the rest of the world. ]

You did well, okay? Really well.

[beathach]

You're biased, though.

[he can't help but lean close to her as well]

Okay, okay, I did well. I'll stop questioning it.

[athru]

Am I?

[ Tilting her head up, she puts her chin on his shoulder. ]

That's more like it. You should listen to me more often.

[beathach]

Incredibly.

[his nose wrinkles and he turns his head to kiss the tip of her nose]

I listen to you all the time.

[athru]

[ She reaches up, hand covering her nose. ]

You're ridiculous.

[beathach]

Says you.

[because no one is more ridiculous than Raven to him]

I learned from the best.

[ Hah. ]

[beathach]

And who would that be?

Oh, some guy I know.

[beathach]

Sounds like he's a bad influence.

Absolutely dreadful. He's a nightmare, if we're being honest.

That bad? Wow, why do you bother with him, then?

I suppose he's quite cute...

[he wrinkles his nose, though. Pls he isn't cute, Raven]

Ah, so cute and smart. But a handful.

[he almost says "brat" but he doesn't want to give her fuel ok]
