{Fingon is busy in the kitchen of his ship when he realizes he's being watched, and flashes a smile, if a bit embarrassed looking with the hint of pink to pointed ears.}

Ah, hello. I suppose... I hope my shipmates and those who have visited the Huntress the past couple weeks have not gone too hungry during my - ah...regression? I hope to have a good hot meal ready soon for those on board or visiting.


{A little later has the Elf checking on his relatives and making sure everyone is as they should be, bringing a few newly baked goodies with him.}

[Finwe had been grateful to have time with his little Findekano but he was glad to see that he was back to his proper age once more. He closed the book he had been reading when his grandson entered with food, gesturing for him to sit down with a warm smile.]

You have been busy, grandson. What have you made today?

{Fingon smiles and sits down beside his grandfather, immediately leaning against him and offering one of the still-warm pastries.}

There is stew on the...burner, and these are pastries with chocolate inside and drizzled on top.

Oh, Findekano, you truly spoil your grandfather. [He chuckled as he picked up one of the pastries, not hesitating to try it. He wasn't surprised when it was delicious and he wrapped his other arm around his grandson to let him snuggle closer.]

What would I do without you?

{A pleased hum and Fingon beams, curling into the embrace. He might be full grown again, but he'd always loved grandfather hugs!}

You take good care of me, Grandfather, it is only right I do the same! And I fear you would go wanting for sweets!

You make sure I never go without, never worry. [He assured him as he finished the pastry and gave his grandson a kiss on his forehead.]

[Blinks. There's a familiar face, only... not? But between the ship name and the elf's comment itself, well.]

...Fin-de-káno? Is that really you?

{A startled blink before Fingon's flush darkens and he ducks his head.}

Ah, yes. Thank you for being so kind to a child.

[Fingon isn't the only one who blushes, especially not with the thanks.]

It was no trouble. I've raised a few boys myself.

Though, out of curiosity, how exactly were you a child?

{Fingon smiles shyly.}

They were fortunate to have you.

The device we're all implanted with, which is how we know what we do of this fleet. Sometimes it malfunctions, from what I have seen, and such a thing happens. Other effects are possible.

How often exactly do malfunctions like that happen?

Which is all that can be expected of any parent.

This was the first time I had been affected. I think it is random.

Ah, I'm not actually a parent. They were more little brothers to me.

And let's hope that things like that aren't too common.

Yet you raised them. That speaks to me of a parent, be it in name or not.

I cannot say I have been harmed by any of the changes, be it to myself or those around me. {Ignoring, of course, the fact Fingon can create ice cold water out of thin air now.}

Not so much. Still, I tried.

And that's a very good thing! I'd hate to hear that something dangerous had happened just for their ridiculous entertainment.

[Especially to an elf, and one he'd held as a little child, even if just briefly.]

{Fingon holds the small basket of treats out to his cousin, peeking up at him.}

(How did Eru create such a precious Elf? Maedhros has no idea, but he feels exceptionally blessed to know him. He will approach him in the kitchen and kiss the back of his head fondly.)

It does not take much effort to be kind to a little Finno. I was relieved you were not frightened by my appearance!
