[Now having been given some background context, Wanda starts to understand why Peggy had the reaction she did. Wanda could already tell the "Steve Rogers' woman" comment was likely not going to go over well -- hence her apprehension in spilling those beans to Peggy, but she did not realize just how negative the connotation to those words was until now. Which, of course, starts to make her feel really stupid and ashamed for having passed them on like she did. Both to Mr. Jarvis and to Peggy.]
I- I had no idea. Peggy, that- I'm sorry. We all know that there are so many reasons why you are the amazing, inspiring woman that you are. You deserve to be our captain, and we all respect you for it. I- I feel certain that... the person who made the comment... I'm certain he-- or she-- I'm certain they would never have said such a thing had they known.
[Wanda's really fumbling along on here, but she really does mean those compliments she pays to Peggy.]

Whoever said it, [ she allows them to play at vagueness a while longer, ] doesn't need you to shield them. I imagine he or she can speak for themselves.

I'm sure you are right...
[Wanda doesn't sound convinced. Though now, she realizes she's still holding the communicator, still supposed to be coming through it to locate where she "overheard" the offending comment. She tries to vacate this duty.]
I- I can't seem to find the network post... um, maybe it was deleted?
[Christ, she feels like she couldn't be further unconvincing if she tried.]

with a huff: ] It was Pietro, wasn't it? It's alright. I can hardly blame you for wanting to protect him -- but I can assure you there's nothing he needs protecting from.
[ except perhaps karma. or a tug on his earlobe. ]

Really, I know Pietro looks up to you, and he would never want to make you feel otherwise. He just... he tends to let his mouth run before his brain.

[ someone less forgiving, despite the chill in her tone. ]
no subject
Just try not to let him... frustrate you too much...

[More than likely... she was going to be hearing about this very soon...]
