Who: The Staff at The Space Bar
Broadcast: No
Action: Kitchen in the Space Bar
When: Today
When Remy left the fleet it left Vash alone minding the kitchen of The Space Bar. Luckily there was Jarvis who was joining him on the roster and Stefan was helping out while he got settled into the role. Of course there was the rest of the bar staff as well who would be able to lend a hand!
For today Vash was having both Jarvis and Stefan over at the same time to show them around the kitchen and where everything is. The problem? Vash is having a bit of fun showing off what he already knows of the kitchen that he's forgotten someone's order as it cooked.
A little grease fire growing rapidly out of control is normal and fine in a kitchen, right?
"Huh, do you two smell something burning?"

Is he fired? He wasn't sure he even wanted a job at first and now he's actually a bit nervous about losing one.

"All right, first things first." You can practically hear the sparkles. "Is anyone hurt?"

And is quite casual himself on the matter; nobody is dead, and the ship didn't burn. Just a small wound on the side of his palm really. His fault for getting to close with the towel. Silly him.
"Oh! I'm quite alright. Just a burn -- it will heal with time and patience. Is everyone else alright?"

“Let me look at it.” Stefan steps out of the sprinkler's path, like the medic he's supposed to be, and brings out the burn cream he'd acquired. Forget his pride: someone got injured, and on his first day too no less. “We'll just rub this on - might be too late, but better now than never.”
While he's hastily opening the tube and trying to pinpoint where the burn might be, he remembers, “Oh, right. I'm fine. No bruises here.”

"Oh man, you got burned? I'm sorry." Vash rubs at his neck with a sigh. This really was a big mess.
"I'm fine as well." Even with trying to put the fire out with a metal pot cover he wasn't burned at all. His leather glove may look a bit singed, but he's fine. "It won't happen again. I'm glad it's not a bad burn at least."

"All right." The glacial cheerfulness is gone, and she just huffs. "New extinguisher, check. Vash? Fixing this is coming out of your paycheck." Just saying. Unless you want to point the finger at someone else. "Stefan, you need anything else for that burn?"
Jarvis-- well, she leaves you out for now. Beyond mentally agreeing that hey yeah, fire safety is a good call. She just didn't think it was warranted until now.

"It's alright, really. I'm hardly scathed."
It's a burn on the side of his hand, and it's not particularly pretty, but it's not gonna cause any permanent damage. Just your typical freak-kitchen accident burn! He clears his throat and lets Stefan handle his hand, though. It feels weird to be the one getting first aid, when usually he's the one giving it. He sighs softly.
"It was just an unfortunate accident; I'm sure we've all learned from this."
Chin up, lads. Everything's good.

Stefan doesn't trust his wet hands with bandages. That would be something left to another medic, and hopefully one who wasn't sopping wet. (Even his hair's fallen back into its natural shape, rather than the gelled look he prefers.)
"I'm still really sorry. It shouldn't take long to heal."

Vash just sighs at the punishment to his pay check. It means he's still got a job and may not be in too much trouble. "I guess that's fair. Luckily I think it was put out before the fire did too much damage."

C'mere, Jarvis. She'll finish the job.

"Water under the bridge, gentlemen." And on Stefan. Look at you, you poor thing. "Just make sure the equipment can function in time for more work, and everything will be fine. I recommend you go fetch a change of clothes, Mr. Salvatore..."
no subject
"I've got them back at the Interfaith Center." He pauses. Technically, he's still on the clock, but... "Permission to take a break and get said change of clothes?"
And a hot shower while he's at it. Just in case.

And if she doesn't? Hell, she can take more from his paycheck.
"I'm just going to start cleaning this place up." True to his word, out comes a mop as he starts to take care of the water.

"Go ahead. Take your time." He's only doing her a favour, after all. "I'm sure they can manage without you for a bit."
Also, she gives Vash a gentle kick in the ankle as he passes. "Stop looking like the world's going to end."

"Thank you. I'll be back shortly."
Noticeably? This time? He doesn't even try using his speed as he walks out, because he knows that he'll just slip and slide (and probably create an even bigger mess).
no subject
"Well, I'm just glad no one was seriously hurt in the end."
He moves back and forth to clean up the slipping hazard first and once the floor is mopped of most of the water he'll move onto the stove itself.
