[It hadn't struck Riona right away, what today was. In the morning, she'd gone about her usual business, just like any other day. In fact, she may never have realized it at all, if she hadn't just idly thought about it. It hit her rather hard, leaving her almost breathless for a moment.

Today marks one year since she arrived in the fleet.

A lot of emotions come with it, ones she struggles with throughout the rest of the day. It's what eventually drives her to the Iskaulit, fighting with her thoughts as Kiter meanders alongside of her, enjoying the exercise. Riona finally decides to maybe try the network and get her thoughts out that way, rather than just mulling over them.]

I find myself observing the one year mark of my arrival to the fleet. [She falls quiet a moment, lips quirked to one side.] It's been quite a year. To those who have observed this anniversary for themselves: did you find yourselves feeling rather mixed about the whole thing? Personally, I can't quite figure out how I feel about it, quite honestly.

Maybe I should simply accept that, that there aren't going to be much in the way of words. [A huff.] Maybe what I need more than anything is a distraction. I've spent the better part of the day chewing it all over in my mind. If anyone has an idea for such, I welcome suggestions. Alternatively, if company is wanted, I'm walking with my dog around the Iskaulit.

[One can only hope they find a way, and that it won't have enormous ramifications. Playing with the time space fabric and plucking people away from their worlds permanently might be... dicey. But she hardly knows enough about it to say one way or the other.]

It has been pretty quiet around here lately, aside from that dragon incident some months back. Almost too quiet.

I know, right? It was quite all over the anniversary, too. I was just waiting for something weird to happen. Buuut nothing. Everything's stayed pretty normal.

The first one was pretty crappy. Did anyone tell you about Calibrations?

No, the term does not sound familiar. What are those?

It happened last year, during the first anniversary, maybe right after. We all ended up on the Marsiva in like a big communal area. We couldn't go anywhere, couldn't go back to the ships. Diamond and Beau spoke to us but they were about as helpful as you'd expect them to be.

[He lets out a haggard sigh. ]

The worst came after we fell asleep, though. We walked into each other's dreams, saw each other's memories.

How odd. What reason did they have to do that?

[Even if it wasn't an honest reason, they still usually had one.

The last bit, though, makes her raise her brow. The idea of it isn't all that foreign to her, it rather sounded like the Fade. Though, to be able to see others' dreams was usually something only a mage could do.]

Talk about an enormous invasion of privacy. That must have been awful.

I think it was to calm everyone down. People were...really freaked out about being trapped there. I asked them about what happened to people who left.

[He didn't like the answer.]

It was pretty terrible, yeah. More so for the people here who had secrets, or parts of their lives they didn't want to share with anyone. Suddenly, everyone could see it. It sucked.

[She shakes her head. For all that Riona tried to be a good person, there were a number of skeletons in her closet. Things she'd take to her pyre and wouldn't want to get out.]

Just when I think I have an idea of Atroma's capabilities, I always learn something new and more surprising.

I've learned to just accept that they can do whatever they like. Whatever they can't do, they can just mess with our augments and make us think they can do it anyway.

Here's to hoping this anniversary remains a quiet one with no new tricks from them.

[She's not keen on seeing what else Atroma can do, given the opportunity.]
