Man, I really liked those hoverboard things from the last place. Think there's any way we could make some of those for the fleet?

Considering it's a huge responsibility, something like, "I want to do my part to help keep our shipmates and everybody else safe" would've been a little more reassuring.

I don't think it does. Especially not after what happened with the raiders; with the exception of our ship, the ones that suffered the most damage were the ones without pilots.

I think to make it clear that you understand the responsibility, you need to consider other people's worries and address those first.

[There's a pause. There's a petty part of him that wants to point that that he sure doesn't remember Sorey asking this of any other crew. None of them have to "prove" anything to get their positions.

But he bites it back. Sorey means well and he knows it won't get him anywhere]

Look, of course I wanna help the crew out. You guys are my friends. Friends help each other. And we gotta be a team if we all wanna get home.

I'm not scared of some responsibility.

[Sorry buddy, comes with being the first guy Sorey's seen bouncing about changing their augment. Nothing personal.] Well...it's not like anybody here can actually tell you no. If you want to change your augment, that's your decision.

I'm just worried; after everything that happened with branding the raiders, the last thing this ship needs is more dysfunction between crew members. [That's just asking for malevolence to start stinking up the place.]

That, yeah. [He's more worried about Maedhros than he or Mikleo getting into a tiff with the elves. There was a whole lotta darkness in his eyes.

I've been getting engineering lessons and it's been really helpful; maybe there's somebody who'll let you practice with their ship after you switch.

Hmmm...oh! Do you know Clay? Clay Terran, of the Vanquish? He's a pilot! And a really nice guy, I bet he'd love to give you lessons! [nbd just volunteering friends for duties before asking them]

Yeah, he's a friend. [Probably! They're still very friendly with each other, after all!] He loves space. He'd probably be thrilled to teach someone how to fly, honestly.
