I never said she was an expert, but she has plenty of common sense and responsibility. Didn't Sorey have to teach you how to clean properly?

[The fact that people keep throwing his rank in his face like it's supposed to mean anything, or that it's supposed to be some kind of impersonal insult, is really chafing him. It's too close to his fight with the elves to lead him towards feeling either charitable or trusting. Thus, his response is just as snippy.]

I think you've just made my argument for me. And since you asked, then as your captain, I'm telling you no.

[There's a frustrated sound. He knows he stuck his foot in his mouth there, but what Mikleo was insinuating struck a nerve and it's not like he can take it back.]

Look, if you really want the job, you'll have to put in the work. Find someone who knows what they're doing and get them to train you. And you need to keep your powers in check, too. Don't you think that sort of job is going to be stressful? What if another attack happens, and you get scared and blow up the bridge equipment?

You can't spread yourself too thin or you'll fall apart. I don't want that to happen, and I don't want you to take us down with you, either.

But Sora's not about to be deterred. If anything, this makes it attainable! And one more incentive to get those powers in check.]
