[003 π Action]
Who: Jeyne and YOU!
Broadcast: N/A
Action: S.S. Blue Fish
When: Feb 5th
[Open]
With the newly upgraded kitchen, it became important to Jeyne to improve her cooking and make an effort to create dishes that the rest of the crew could enjoy. While she was still struggling with meats, she had learned to bake without actually burning or under cooking her creations. Perhaps for the first time in all of her attempts, the kitchen was filled with the delicious smell of cookies. She grinned down at her work, nearly bursting with pride.
At the sight of a figure lingering in the doorway, she smiled up at them. "Would you like one?"
[Closed to Beverly]
After having seen to her chores and provided lunch for the crew, Jeyne finally acted on her impulse and made her way to the med bay. Beverly had promised long ago to help her and provide her answers that she needed. Fear had kept her away, not wishing to learn how cruel her mother could be, even to her own blood. Or frustration that, even though she had hope, she was wrong in her belief and truly was barren.
She forced away all thoughts as she found Beverly, wringing her hands nervously. "My lady?" She asked hesitantly, her heart racing in her chest. "Is this a poor time to ask a favor?"
[Closed to Robb]
Later in the afternoon, all of her work and spent attention had left her exhausted. Having retreated to the room she shared with Robb, Jeyne stretched out on the bed to nap. Her sleep was restless, filled with dreams and memories that always seemed to appear when Robb wasn't in bed beside her. The others had gone off to the system, stocking up on supplies and other things, but she found little need to leave the ship. All she needed, she had already.
Robb had been among those disembarking. By the time she woke, she hoped that she would see him in the room again, perhaps with something sweet for them to share.
She stirred as she heard the door shut. Sitting up in bed, Jeyne rubbed her eyes, surprised to see her husband with a sour look on his face. "Robb?"

"Robb?"

His voice is loud, even to his own ears. There are so many things he wants to say and ask.
"This is what I feared... Time has torn us apart." There is a sudden fragile look on his face. "The things we lost there... They are gone here as well. I need to face that...but I need to do that alone."
He stuffs the clothes in his duffel bag.
"You have shamed me by wanting another in front of my eyes. But I cannot recall saying that." Finally he takes a step back. "I do not understand any of this. And I do not recognize you anymore. You have turned into someone different." Another step follows. "I am dead and you will wed another. We should act according to that."
no subject
She was sputtering, truly at a loss for words. "Nothing has torn us apart, only you do that by pushing me away and accusing me of things that I have not done! I have never once considered another man, not in Westeros or here." There had never been a question in her mind about who she wanted in her life and in her bed.
"You call me pig headed and now you accuse me of being untrue? You insult my honor!" This wasn't like him and the shock was clear on her face.

"After the raiders were chased. I saw it with my own eyes. You dared to confront me about Kitty again as an excuse."
He is not the man to be rough with his wife and he doesn't touch her when she blocks the exit. But she is lying and he does not understand why. It only fuels his anger more and he moves to pinch the bridge of his nose again.
"You need to stop speaking and let me leave." Because his head is hurting and he wants to get away. This room is too small and he can't deal with any of this. Not properly. Not like a king would. He wants to be a boy, he wants to run away, he wants to weep and he needs time to process all of this. "There are no excuses for your behavior and I...I do not like the way you look at me. I am no bloody mad man."
no subject
Still, she did not move. "You are pushing me away for something that did not happen, Robb! You claim not to be mad, but in the same breath you accuse me of being an adulterer? What am I to make of this?" Were the Atroma capable of creating illusions or false memories? Had they wiped her memory of something that might have happened?
No. No, she would never.
"Robb, please." She wanted to reach out and touch his hands, she wanted to shake him. This was not who they were and she could feel herself near breaking. "I swear before my gods and yours, on the life of the child we hope to have, I never would be untrue to you. May the gods strike me dead if I am lying!"
no subject
"No." Robb's hands tighten around the handle of his bag. "I have seen you. You can be untrue."
But how can she say that? Jeyne isn't a liar. She is sweet and warm and all he loves. Could the Atroma be behind this? Was it a part of their game? Would they go that far?
"Our child..." The look on his face turns into a frown that is right there between a sadness and confusion. "I do not think...it has ever been about what I want. Even here it is..." He places a hand on the door. "...I will be at my lady mothers chambers, Jeyne. Now let me go."
no subject
"I never thought you could be so cold as this." Her voice was near a whisper as she drew away, resigning herself to his escape and eventual break from her. Perhaps it was for the best? After all her family had done, she didn't deserve him. The Atroma had merely shattered the illusion that she had been living under. Everything had been beautiful, but now it was as though he had died once again.
"The only crime I have committed was when I caused you to break your vow." She said as calmly as she could manage. "If you think I am capable of hurting you in that way, perhaps you truly never knew or loved me at all."

βI have done worse things, Jeyne.β He could not say that he did not shed a tear. He had been crying the moment he reached his bed chambers and rid himself of the crown. βAnd so have you.β
And there is still a small part of him that does not believe everything. That tells him that the Jeyne that kissed that man has been another. Some sort of creation of the Atroma. A trap. Something worth of better entertainment. But he cannot be sure of that. There are no signs that that is the truth. He saw everything happen in front of his eyes and when she spoke she spoke of Kitty again. How unfair he has been to her.
βI broke my vow, not you. Remember that, Jeyne.β He looks at her when she backs away from the exit. βAnd I will never regret doing so.β And the strangest thing is that he does not think she is capable of that. Of what she did in front of him.
βDo not doubt my love for you.β

Whatever her family might have done, she and Raynald had lived by the words of her house. He had given his life to fulfill those words, she had walked away from her family. She had no regret for those choices.
Not even as he accused her of a crime that was as reprehensible as her mother's actions. What difference would there be between them, if Jeyne truly bedded another man.
"I do not regret it either, Robb." She pressed her hand to her heart. "I have been happy as your wife, happier than I ever was before. We are a marriage of equals, born out of genuine desire and love. Why should I throw that away for someone that could never matter as much?" He had to see that, he had to hear the desperation in her voice.
"How then can you doubt me, Robb? Whatever it is that you saw, it isn't me. I love you, only you. I did not do this."
no subject
βThat is what I keep asking myself. Why would you throw it away?β Because he saw it. He saw it and she spoke to him and she was angry and bitter. She had been Jeyne, but not a part of Jeyne he knew. βI have no idea what I should think of this, Jeyne. It...hurts a lot and I am quite done with such things.β So he has to run away and be craven. There is absolutely no other solution. βIt is not self pity...I do not pity myself for the mistakes I have made... But I cannot handle this...β He points at himself, her and the room. β...the way people toy around with what I feel...β
The words come out awkward and unsure.
β...This is important. This is us and I cannot...handle it.β

She feels empty, even at the threshold of despair. Perhaps later she would mourn and cry, but for now, all she can do is stare back at Robb numbly. He had no faith in her, despite being aware that this place seemed capable of doing anything to increase entertainment. Whatever happened, it was enough to make him believe she was capable of being untrue.
But perhaps it was fair? Through her, he lost his life. Shouldn't he reclaim it now and discard that which had ruined it?
She sank to the floor, pulling her knees to her chest in an effort to shield herself. There was no fight left in her, only a sad acceptance that this was the path he wanted. "Your mother is waiting." It is all she can say. She had protested and sworn that she was true, but it wasn't enough. She couldn't fight any further.

"I will return..." he whispers, brows furrowing. "I just...I need to be craven right now and hide."
After those words he shuts the door behind him and hurries to the shuttle deck.
