[Well Allen's sure in a piss-poor mood tonight, if his late night texts have anything to say about it. Usually he's good at not letting departures get too under his skin. But losing a friend and someone from home in one go? Is a bit much.]

Me too. I've been very lucky.

[Ironic, considering the situation he's in would probably be anything but lucky. But he knows that back home he'd probably have no more than a few months left to live. So getting nine extra years? Was a complete blessing.]

[Well, Sorey's sure Clay will notice long before he does, but in the off chance Sorey runs into him first that's good to know. Although he can't abide by that 'get away as fast as possible' clause unless that includes getting everyone else out of danger first. Allen is probably assuming that's the case.]

[There's a sigh on his end. He's not surprised that's Sorey's reaction. He saw how he reacted to them needing to destroy Mikleo as a dragon. Sorey wants to save everyone. He wants to believe every person could be helped, that no one has to die.

It's an admirable dream. One that Allen could relate to. But...the years have taught him that a dream is all it is.]

Sorey...

It's not like I want to die. I want to live. That's why I spent so many years searching for a cure. You wouldn't believe some of the methods I've tried. And if something did happen to the seal, I would do everything in my power to keep fighting, to keep living. Like I did before I had the seal.

I have to be realistic too.

No matter how much I'll fight, there's always a chance I'll fail. And if I do...you don't have the power yet to win against a Noah. That's not meant to an insult, most Exorcists don't either. And the thought of some ... thing using my body to hurt you or the Seraph or anyone else?

...No matter how much I want to live, I'd rather die than have that happen. I'm sorry.

I understand. Believe me, I do.

[When he first started out on his journey, he didn't. And he knows this kind of idealism is unfair, maybe even cruel. Mikleo would probably agree with Allen at this point, after everything that's happened. Zaveid certainly would, and Dezel might also, as well.]

And I understand that this Crowley person is someone to whom you've entrusted the worst case scenario so if he's there, I won't get in his way. But if it's just down to me...I won't let you hurt anyone. I'll protect myself and the others, and get everyone away from you. [If he can. Maybe a Noah is on the same level as Heldalf; Sorey's escaped him before, but only by grace and luck. He'll just have to manage somehow if it happens to Allen, because killing him simply isn't an option, whether or not Sorey has the power to do so. Not when Allen fearlessly strode into battle to help save him, and didn't give up even when it caused him great pain.] ...sorry. That's all I can promise you. [Telling Allen anything else would be denying his true feelnigs. He'd also be lying through his teeth.]

[There's a pause on his side. He's not surprised, he supposes didn't really expect anything else out of Sorey. Were he younger, maybe he would've given the exact same sort of answer. Does he think it's a good idea? No. It could get sorey extremely hurt, if not killed. But it's a very Sorey answer.]

Ahh, guess this means I'll just have to keep working at staying myself. No slacking off.

For any of us. [It's not really a joke. That seal breaking might have specific conditions out of Allen's control, but Sorey can guess how hyper-aware Allen must be of it for him to guard the secret so closely.] And I'll get stronger too, so you don't have to worry as much. [Making it so Allen won't worry about the people around him getting hurt will probably help at least a little.]

Just please...don't tell anyone, okay? Mikleo already knows, but ... well, the last thing the blood drive needs is to have people find out something like me runs it. [He already gets regular accusations of using blood magic and other nefarious things as it is]

[?? ????] Of course, I won't tell anybody, but why would it affect the blood drive? What d'you mean, someone like you?

People have...a lot of different preconceptions about what people like me are like. They'll say that I'm an abomination, or I'll eat their flesh, or I'm in league with the devil, or I'd use their blood to summon my demon brethren, or I should be watched at all times. Or some might even just try to kill me.

[He sighs]

What? [His incredulity isn't over the verity of Allen's words, but rather that people could think things like that about a person so obviously dedicated to helping others.] It's not like it's your fault! You didn't ask to be taken over by a Noah- you're protecting people from it!

People have bad experiences with demons and Noahs that shape their view of things. I mean...imagine if a Hellion came up to you and tried to convince you that they were a good person even as a Hellion. Would you believe them?

...I don't think I'd believe them immediately, but I'd at least listen. People harboring darkness inside themselves isn't a reason to dismiss them and treat them terribly, especially since everyone is capable of it.

You have my word I won't tell anybody Allen, but if it gets out and anybody gives you trouble, please tell me! You saved my life; the least I can do is be a credible character witness.

[Well, he can appreciate that honesty. If he had said yes outright, Allen probably wouldn't have believed him.]
