[Leliana decided to make this with a purpose and an idea in mind. When the feed turns on, she can be found wearing some light armor and gloves, holding a bow in her hands.]

It has come to my attention that perhaps my expertise with a bow and other weapons might be useful, should the need to defend ourselves ever arise again. I reside aboard the Blue Fish as one of her security officers and I believe, by extension, it is my duty to not only defend the ship, but to make sure her inhabitants and those of other ships can defend themselves properly.

Should anyone with inexperience with knives or bows wish it, I am willing to lend my services. I extend this particularly to the women aboard the fleet, purely because it has come to my attention there are some who do not find base means of defense accessible to them.

I do have some experience with a sword and shield, but I find myself willing to leave that in Riona Cousland's expert hands and I am sure she would be more than happy to lend tutelage in that realm of expertise should anyone ask her of it directly.

[She clears her throat a bit.]

There is a small matter of where I might find a suitable place to teach, but I will come to that when a decent interest is shown. Thank you, for your time, and I do hope others who feel eager to learn will come forward soon.

[Given her difficulty at perfecting her aim (or even hitting the target), Leliana's message and offer comes at the perfect time. The raider attack had only helped her realize that she needed a means to protect herself.

I have been trying to learn archery, but I fear I'm rather hopeless. [A beat.] Could you help me learn to defend myself as well?

I can do both - archery and self defense. Where are you having difficulty with them?

[Perhaps giving her a starting point of what to help her work on would be good.]

My aim is non existent. [She would call it "weak", but that would be generous.] Ladies in my land don't hunt and are expected to be demure and gentle. I am starting at the beginning.

I believe you saw me as well when the raiders attacked. I don't know how to fend off men like that, if they try to take me from the ship.

Ah. From the beginning it is. We can start with just a bow then - no arrows. I want to see you get used to holding one and using it. The last thing you'd want is to injure yourself.

I tried something similar to strengthen my arm.

If we are not using arrows, we could practice in the cargo bay?

A good suggestion. Do you have the free time? I can meet you when I've traded off patrols with our other officer.

Ah! And I find myself suddenly volunteered.

[An apologetic smile.]

I merely wanted to make it known that there are several women aboard the fleet more than capable of teaching a thing or two. Our young Lord Stark seems to believe that swords are restricted to use by men.

[Going to just rest her chin on one hand, smiling almost wickedly. She might take great joy in teaching his wife how to use a bow and arrow.]

I do. I finished with my chores for the day.

[Other officer.]

You mean Robb?

Yes, exactly him.

[She may or may not have researched everyone who resided aboard the Blue Fish and... may or may not know that the two are close and/or in a relationship.

Hey, she wasn't the Inquisition's spymaster and the Left Hand of the Divine for nothing, alright.]

[If only because she's excited to prove to him that women are more than capable of such things as warfare.]

[She shouldn't be surprised, but she is. Ugh, Robb. How has he not learned anything yet?]

He's seen me with a sword and shield. Not to mention he must know it was three women fighting that day on the Blue Fish. Is he so stuck in his ways that he can't reconsider that after what he's seen?

He had been teaching me archery, but his skills...he is better with a sword than a bow.

[They were always have some difficulties. Talking to Robb didn't seem possible at the moment.]

[Improving herself and learning to be self reliant wasn't something she could share, it was in her heart.]

I think it's perhaps just that he's a bit misguided. Not entirely stuck in his ways. Perhaps he'll come around eventually? Though it could be like Sten - stubborn to the core.

Sten didn't know better, but Robb's been here long enough that he should by now.

[She'd been about to cheekily suggest teaching him Archery as well, but she understands Jeyne's point of view.]

I can do that.

[She gives Jeyne a warm smile.]

Well then. We'll have to meet sooner rather than later, no? I want to see you improve.

[Aaaand in response to such a professional and very diplomatic offer, have a blue-haired electrical menace throwing off the classy curve.]

What, do girls not get our own ray-guns in this joint?

[She's...kind of trying to be supportive here. By her standards, even this is a pretty significant effort.]

What gives with leavin' us with pointy sticks and Ren-Faire leftovers?

It shouldn't take me long to reach the cargo bay. I've finished in the kitchen.

[She would need to fetch her bow from her room, but it wouldn't make for a large delay.]

[It's a guy, but his voice is on the softer, higher pitched range.]

To teach archery or knives? Because I've been wondering about creating a dojo somewhere.

Milady if you would not mind the company, I could use a companion to spar against who is not a member of my family. [ Maglor smiles a little wryly ] We all know each other far too well to be of great challenge for long. And if you mind it not, my archery is far too rusty and could use an experts aid in reviving slightly.

I have skill with swords and daggers, but none with a bow. Would you be able to teach how to better defend against such ranged weapons?

Typically, those assigned to Security have the best access to weaponry.

[And the Blue Fish was particularly careful about what security measures they took, including having locks installed on the doors. Leliana wasn't about to just give their weapons out to anyone.]

I work as a security officer, but my expertise lies within projectile weapons and blades of a simpler nature than guns.

[She'd use one if she had to, but she preferred bows and arrows.]

Yes, just-- somewhere open, but not quite so populated as the Iskaulit. I know there are businesses there and there could be empty spaces to teach various skills, but I want somewhere more concrete than just open space on the planet's surface each time we touch down upon one.

What would you wish to teach at this 'dojo' of yours?

I certainly wouldn't object.

[Since she thinks you're pretty great, so far - a lover of the arts and warfare? Sounds like her kind of friend.]

It gives me something to do, to make myself useful to others around me. After the attack on the fleet by the raiders, I find we're in need of it. We can't rely on each ship having one or two or perhaps no security officers to defend ourselves.

I could, yes. Learning to shoot one is actually harder than learning to dodge the arrows themselves. Once you get a feel of how their trajectory works, it isn't too hard to understand.

I wonder if there isn't a way to combine several rooms, further away from the others on the Iskaulit... I haven't been able to explore it much myself yet.

[Because constant practice is important, especially where accuracy is necessary like with archery. He could stand to have a little practice at that himself, to be honest.]

I'm a swordsmanship teacher of the Tennen Rishin style, if that means anything to you. A master of the Japanese sword. For now I'm borrowing space at the current gym, but...

[He laughs lightly.]

Well, it would be nice to have a space that fit my specifications without need for worry of an errant blade harming anyone.
