Not exactly, but I found an alternative source. [By "found" he means Winn is using a machine he and his girlfriend built to keep Kara powered on him now.]

[Because an alternative source means that perhaps they won't have to go without when it comes to the next time someone attacks the Fleet. He doubts it will be long considering how people have spoken of the past events. Something big usually comes around every few months.]

How does one find an alternative source for... [Radiation?] the sun? Is it food?

No, it's a machine that duplicates and generates the part of the sun's radiation that I need. It doesn't do everything a star would do.

Do you have to wear it? Or is it like some of the machines here, you sit by it and it works with buttons?

I just need exposure to it for awhile to charge up. It wouldn't be very comfortable to wear. [And probably dangerous.]

Oh, is it large?

[Because that's the only thing he can think of that would make something uncomfortable to wear. Unless it was made of spikes, but he somehow doubts anyone would subject themselves to a spikey death sun machine.]

I'm still learning about machines myself, so I can't imagine what a sun machine looks like.

Large and clunky and generally wouldn't be a solid fashion choice. But if it helps I wouldn't have been able to guess a sun machine either. [It's not something anyone on Daxam had ever thought of.]

Oh, yes, that sounds like a terrible fashion choice.

Although, most Western fashion seems like terrible choices to me. Don't the leggings catch your knees?

In my country, this is the normal dress for men.

And for women, it is similar, but with slight differences like the width of the obi and the sleeves. Western clothing seems very restrictive to me.

I think the clothing of Daxam is somewhere in between what you wear and the things I wore in National City. We have pants sometimes but also robes and dresses.

So the fashion on your homeworld was not too dissimilar to Earth then? How curious... I wonder what other similarities we share.
