The first lesson is always learning that water will hold you, if you allow it to. Humans - and elves, for that matter - we tend to float, rather than sink, provided you don't fight the water's push. When you relax, it will carry you. Movement should not be too forceful, but it does need to be deliberate.

What, really? But I sink in a bath. [Therefore humans can't float obviously.] I'm usually pretty relaxed in the bath.

I feel leaning tends to involve less movement. [Said as he continues to drift and spin just slightly in the gentle current.]

Maybe a little. [ Maglor's eyes are bright with amusement as he watches him ]

If you want to direct yourself, the trick is to 'push' against the force that holds you - but slowly and deliberately. It is almost like dancing, really.

Dancing. Okay, that's good, I guess. I'm a pretty good dancer. [Liar.]

Now I wonder of they did something other than decontaminate us. As I've choked on a drink before so I'm pretty sure this breathing thing is a bit odd right now.

Not that I'm not completely thankful for it!!!

It is... very strange, to be so comfortable under the water. But there - if you know dance, then that is a good beginning!

[Vash wiggles a bit to keep from spinning upside down in a small current he's floated into. Hard to tell if it could be called dancing, swimming, flailing, or drowning. A bit of everything is probably best.]

I bet they have some pretty amazing salmon sandwiches around here! I'm going to be pretty disappointed if they don't!

Although, I think the bread would be a bit soggy. I wonder if they even have sandwiches.

But that's so long without the taste of a freshly made donut! Or apple pie! Or fresh bread! Or cakes!

Well, if you can find the ingredients you could try making your own, or asking someone to do so?

I tried making it before, but it's just not the same as a real baker with the proper equipment behind them.

Well, you need flour and yeast, obviously, but you also need milk, honey, sugar, salt, eggs, and... I think that's it?

That does not sound too complicated... what makes those from a shop better than those from one's own kitchen?

It's more the cooking. A professional deep fryer just isn't the same as one that is portable or baked.

Ah, I see! The size of it matters, then?

Size, baking consistency, and probably something else? I don't know I'm not a bad cook, but baking isn't exactly my forte.
