I'm a mutant, yes. [He's not a hero nor will he respond to that remark. Returning his attention to the metal pieces in his hands, he releases one to spread his palm over the gap between the two. The metal begins to elongate, stretching towards the centre and melding together.] I control magnetism.

It would be an incredibly useful ability in the kitchen.

[Erik pauses in his work to pin Jarvis with a suspicious look. It's a true comment, but Erik's not about to confirm that.]

This is important material for the refugees, and I fear with my rather unextrodinary strength, I'm woefully poor on time.

I could pay you for your help, to get them their supplies sooner.

... I will even refrain from mentioning the... 'B' word.

[Giving Jarvis's hand a cursory glance, he looks back up at the man's face.]

I don't need credits.

[It's a little gauche to offer, in his opinion. There is very little that he does for other Fleet members here where he expects credits in return.]

[Don't be silly, Mr. Lehnsherr, credits for one's work is only a decent ethic to live by.

Imagine if Howard Stark never paid his poor workers for what they deal with on a daily basis.]

The refugee camp. They've gotten a new family suffering from illness; it's imperative we collect as many additional supplies as we can, to keep them comfortable.

[He nods firmly.]

This is the third load, and I'm hoping they'll send for more.

[Heaving a sigh, he beckons upwards with his hands and the gurney rises accordingly. Even though Erik drops his hands afterwards the gurney continues to move, shunting itself along at walking pace. Erik himself kicks his feet, swimming after it.]

A very good method in general. It would be wise I follow such advice.

I don't see how my disposition is relevant right now.

[Not to someone he's had two conversations with, at least. Erik's not about to argue that he's perfectly cheerful elsewhere.]

I would think a disposition is relevant in any conversation.

You overreached, in our last talk. And-- [This is the mildest of concessions] --perhaps it was because you were drunk. But I don't need someone offering to bake me things purely because of one comment.

... By offering food? I'm a butler and a cook in the bar you ventured into; I would be more concerned for my usual self if I didn't offer something, whether it be you or the lad who wandered in before or after you.

... You declined quite rudely. [He quirks his eyebrow, not really sure where this is coming from. Do you need therapy for some hatred of grain he's unfamiliar with?] I've never seen someone so determined to evade bread in all of my days working.

Has someone smacked you upside the head with a loaf in your history?

[He snorts indelicately.]

I'd be more offended by the waste of food if they had done so.

Let's not pursue the matter. I can see the village up ahead.
