I would sense it if there were. [all of this uncertainty and this, at least, she can be certain about] As though I would let us proceed without checking that much.

[the next room, though, doesn't seem to have any obvious traps. Instead, on the floor of the room are three, large blocks, all neatly lined up, and three places in which the ground is lower - carved with similar symbols like the previous room. Each block has a symbol that seems to correspond to a place on the floor.

[Erik hangs in the water for a moment, staring at the blocks. Then at the grooves in the floor.]

...getting traction in here is going to be irritating.

[It's hard to brace against the floor when you're FLOATING.]

[with a huff, Tempest swims down to one of the blocks, circling it before giving it a cursory shove. She then plants her feet as best she can and tries again.

When it doesn't budge, she crosses her arms and scowls at it, but thoughtfully]

I could try to ice the floor, to make it a bit easier.

[Erik nods, and swims over to a second block. He pulls out the collection of metal screws he keeps in his pocket, considering them.]

I'll try to shove it with metal.

My, a chance for the both of us to show off? How lucky for us.

[she circles the block once more, slower this time, considering] Swim up a bit just in case, love, I'd hate to freeze your feet by accident.

[With a grunt, Erik kicks off the floor and out of the danger zone. Frozen feet does not sound like something he wants to deal with.]

[she's cast this spell dozens of times on water, but under? She doubts anything bad will happen, but just in case . . .

Erik will hear her murmuring the words quietly as she kneels down to touch the floor. After a moment, ice begins to spread out from where her fingertips are, slowly spreading across the room.

When she's finished she swims up as well, rubbing her hands together quickly as if trying to warm them up]
