[ That's gross, even for Cara. But she takes him for his word as she gingerly sits up. ]
Let's go then.

He climbs over the rubble and--
Suddenly disappears from view with a yelp. The other side is a sharp incline down and he almost fell straight down into a hole with spikes at the bottom. Thankfully, he was able to catch himself. The hallway continues across the hole though and he growls.]
Shit! Hey, jump over when you come through?

no subject
Take that for a minute and go on ahead. I'll catch up.
no subject
You had better. I won't cry if you fall!
no subject
Good, 'cause if I fall, I ain't worth cryin' over. Go on!

It's slow, but eventually he manages to hoist himself up enough that he can safely get away from the edge. Then he jumps and starts off after her. His sword will let him know which way she went. He can feel her holding him, moving further ahead.
He has to rest though after a few feet. The wound in his side is still bleeding and the exertion of climbing back up leaves him winded. He hisses as he touches the gash and frowns. He hates human bodies.
After feeling Cara move further ahead, he closes his eyes and lets go.
Then a moment later, by Cara's side, there's a flash of light and he stumbles down next to her.]
Hey.
no subject
We should stop. You're still bleeding and if you die, I don't know if I can bring you back.
no subject
Like I said, I'm fine. The damage ain't to my blade, so I'll be able to heal up once we get back.
[And speaking of his blade, he holds out his hand for it.]
'Sides - your weapons are waiting for you, ain't they? You can't come all this way and leave 'em.
no subject
[ Breaking from the Mord'Sith, learning of regret and sorrow, being able to appreciate life and its beauty. Cara won't throw it all away. Her gaze pins him down. ]
Do you give me your word you will heal and survive?
no subject
But for Doudanuki, his weapon was his life. He was the weapon that would always get left behind.
For her benefit, he stands a little straighter and rolls his shoulders.
It takes a hell of a lot more to break me than some big ass fish and a couple cuts.
no subject
I should hope so. I don't travel with weak companions.
no subject
Hah, neither do I. Let's go.
[He starts forward and heads for the end of the hall. He's cautious of more pitfalls, but the rest of the floor seems relatively solid.]
no subject
About time.
[ She immediately heads over to the chest, pushing it open. Lying there were the agiels. Inconspicuous and deadly. Cara reaches out to pick them up, feeling the familiar hum of pain course through her. She grins. ]
no subject
He looks up when he hears the chest lid slide open.]
You got 'em?
no subject
I have them. I can rest easy now.
no subject
Alright, then time to head out. Usually there's some kinda back door into this place somewhere about.

He starts moving around the room and eventually finds a doorway hidden behind some seaweed.]
Found it. Looks like it's a clear shot outta here. You good to go?
