(no subject)
Who: Pavel Chekov
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: For the crew of the SS Wonderduck (and video for everyone else)
When: Now
[Chekov wishes he could be surprised or, at the very least, unsettled when he wakes up in a foreign place, but there's a point at which this sort of thing becomes a fairly routine--if always unpleasant--occurrence. Losing people is never easy, no matter the universe, no matter the number of times it happens.
But taking stock of the situation and establishing who is here has to come before mourning those who were left behind in MarinaNova. To that end, Chekov, somewhat familiarized with his new home and in clothes that are slightly more dignified than the pajamas that he initially woke up in on the Marsiva, begins a broadcast. Are you listening to this in Standard/English/Common? If so, enjoy the ridiculously thick Russian accent.]
This is Lieutenant Pavel Andreievich Chekov of the Federation starship Enterprise. If you have met me already or if you are affiliated with Starfleet, please respond to this message. [He smiles even though he's in no real mood to be cheerful.] I would also be happy with replies from you if we're strangers.
Thank you for your time.

You moved between universes at will with these devices? Do you still have them? What kept you in Adstringendum and how did you overcome it? [Do you want him to ask more questions, Sam? He could come up with more.]
video.
And, uh - yeah, we still do. Unfortunately, they haven't responded at all. Pretty sure whatever power source they used to jump us around's been completely severed; now they're just nice little diaries of what happened back there, I guess.
We were kept in Adstringendum by the Animus - spirits who oversaw the place. Every time my friend had set up a way to get out, they'd come smashing in to ruin it. We only got a big break when a powered girl they fostered kinda picked us all up and moved us to a new place. I guess the spirits were having some pretty destructive tiffs at the time.
video.
Of course. The Atroma would never allow anyone to leave so easily. May I look at one? Er... not soon, I mean, since you only met me today and it was rude of me to ask.
Spirits...? [The lack of science is this story is very disappointing, Sam.] Perhaps that makes no less sense than being trapped on a reality program. We can't rely on a solution like that to solve the problem of being here, probably.
video.
... But I wouldn't be too sure of it being a matter of stopping a supernatural entity just yet.

And here's a little something she gave me when I arrived. It's a bit behind, but it's not nothing. So.
... I've been here for over a year so far though, too, so if you have any other questions feel free to ask. And don't worry about dog-piling me with them, I have all the time in the world.
video.
I'll also try to not dog-pile [and that, like crapfest, sounds like a word that he has never had an occasion to say] you with too many questions. Eventually I hope to contribute to the answers.
video.
You need anything or require a hand with something, too, feel free to shoot me a message any time. It's always good for me to stretch my legs or actually pick at my brain, you know?
... Alternatively, I work at the bar, if anything is so exhausting you want alien booze.
video.
The fleet has a bar? [No one said there was a bar!] I can almost promise that you will see me there in the very near future.
video.
[He smiles.]
The Space bar is the one I work at, if you need an ear and a drink.
I'll see you there.
video.
The Space Bar--I think that I can remember that. Thank you, Sam.
