[So Nami had been intending to grow her hair out again, but recent events have proven it's gonna take a little more time.  As of a week ago, her hair has been carved back to its short status for reasons she hasn't bothered sharing, and she's been in a terrible mood for the entire time.  Which has much less to do with her hair and more to do with her two temple runs and the treasure (or not) that she found.

On the other hand, this sponsor delivery she's just found in the Bloodsport's cargo bay really just rounds off the feeling she's being picked on.] 

...cute.  At best, you're late.

[Sup, Flooters.  This is Nami kicking a crate-sized box over, sending glittery, silky hair ties and ribbons and combs and assorted accessories bouncing across the floor, her voice that cheerful sickly sweet that will rise the hackles of anyone who's spent too much time in close proximity with her.]

Free to a good home!  It's in the Bloodsport cargo bay, come and take it by all means.  [Be warned, though, this pile of hair accessories are the kind you'd expect to find in a kiddie aisle that's been painted obnoxiously pink.]  I'm not gonna be here.  I hope they're all gone by the time I come back.

On that note, I'm going up to the surface.  I doubt anyone else is heading up that way, but I'm going up to test some stuff and that'll make the area hazardous to suddenly turn up in, so.  Fair warning, just avoid the area around these coordinates.  [Coordinates given.  It's a freaking planet of water, there's plenty of surface area, but her luck is inconvenient at best so let's avoid anyone haplessly surfacing in the middle of a lightning field, yeah?]

[Now excuse her, she's off to vent her frustration with a waver and a glorified storm stick.]

[L-lmao she just. Twitches a bit, staring suspiciously at the bubbles as they go up and pop, one by one.]

[She swears if the Atroma have turned this weapon into a giant bubble maker-- DOING IT AGAIN. For more bubbles. It's not the bubble factor, it's the fact that the bubbles aren't doing anyth--

Ah. There we are!

[NO THEY STILL LOOK LIKE BUBBLES.

...only the tiniest little dark masses can be seen coming to life within. And a few seconds later, they start sparking with electricity.]

Nami, they're not doing-

[And then they start to darken and spark, and Sokka' scientific mind races, trying to understand what the hell is happening there- what process he can put a name to, to explain their actions.]

...Anything. It's like a little storm cloud inside it.

Right? [She turns to grin at him, more relieved than she'd care to admit that it seems to be working. The bubbles start popping behind her as the tiny storm clouds grow and start kind of merging with each other.] This is the slower way, but it's more wide-reaching. I wanted time to duck if it was out of control.

[It's getting dark overhead. Cue rumbles of ominous thunder?]

[That is pretty damn neat. Sokka turns his head up a little, grinning as he watches the storm start to roll in. ]

Thank what it could mean. If we got to another planet that got teraformed real bad, we could do something. Give them rain, give them a chance for life again.

Yes! I would have loved to have the whole thing back on that poisonous moon we visited. I couldn't fix the problem at the source-- not with this. [She changes weather, not core terraforming accidents.] But I could clear the air for them for a while, maybe, and in places where there's drought--

[She breaks off at a flash of lightning just to double-check it's a safe distance, and frowns, ducking down.] Shield your eyes.

[Because it's about to get really bright and really loud. Multiple lightning strikes a second after a huge crash of thunder from overhead. We're safe, it's just not great on the senses.]

Knowing our luck, we'll probably come to another planet like that some day. Atroma do love bringing that theme back into our lives.

[Jerks. He laughs, raising a hand up to do just that, squinting at the lightning. ]

Seriously, I need to repeat it: so. cool.

A little off base. [She squints up as the clouds start to disperse.] But I think any kinks in it are gonna be straightened out easy enough.

[SHE IS PLEASED.]

Is there anything else you want to see?

[He's like a kid at Christmas, honestly. He BEAMS.]

[Sokka, she is only too happy to show off for someone showing such glee. Seriously. She holds up a finger.]

Pick a weather effect! Any weather effect!

Snow!

[Because of course he's going to pick snow. Water Tribe and all that.]

[namisan]

[Handy. She didn't need the third part for snow, so she already knows that part's fine--]

Watch closely!

[She swings the staff up to launch something small and egg-shaped up into the sky.

...which then cracks and explodes outwards into roiling dark snow clouds up above. She can't exactly cover the whole sky or anything spectacular, but there's a good football field's worth of cloud cover now scattering snow over their heads.]

[He watches with unhidden glee, raising a hand, palm-up to the sky to catch the falling flakes. Wow, they're cold and everything. It's like a little slice of home. ]

Wow, this is me, officially impressed.

[namisan]

I don't have a lot of opportunities to actually play with weather, to be honest. In a lot of ways, it's a bad idea; if I create a rain storm in one place it can alter patterns in another. But here... [She gestures out to a horizon of ocean.]

Guess it doesn't really matter so much.

[alwayscomeback]

Course not. You don't really have to worry about hitting anyone or anything here. It's the perfect practise ground.

[namisan]

I'll say. [She swings the staff out again, only this time she's just testing short range, the tip of the staff crackling with bright electricity as she sweeps it around a little.]

I don't think there's anything wrong with it, anyway. Not that shaking loose the cobwebs a little couldn't help. So you really like snow, huh?

At least Atroma didn't break it. That's weirdly decent of them.

[He smiles, nodding.]

I come from the South Pole. I was born and raised in the snow.

I guess they had more fun sending it back to me in pieces.

[South Pole, huh? Even with her world's view of weird-ass geography, she knows how extremely cold that would be. She peers at him with interest.] Is it hard getting used to all these warmer climates?

Well, yeah. But it made it kind of an adventure, right?

[That gets a chuckle out of him. He's looking forward to going back there, in all honesty. ]

I got used to it, even if I didn't count my time here, it's been about three years since I was last home. I sure do miss it, though.

An irritating one. You're travelling at home too, huh? It's been... [...shit, hold on, she has to count.] Five years since I've been back to my own home, all up. But that happens when you're a pirate.

What about you? Just travelling for the heck of it, or...?

[The snow's starting to thin out.]

I met pirates back home...they were kind of jerks. No offence! I mean, you seem fine. Shut up, Sokka

[He clears his throat nervously, just...breeze past it.]

We were fighting in a war, at first. Then we were helping rebuild after we won. I was planning on going back not long before my first time back home- while I was here. So I guess more...my memories being updated? I don't really understand how it works when our bodies don't move.

[namisan]

None taken. [She's so amused at the shut up, but Nami just waves a hand.] Pirates are generally scum.

[A war, huh? He seems awful young to get involved in a war. But life is shitty like that.]

What was the war about?

[alwayscomeback]

The ones I met were but you know, war and all.

[He exhales, looking up at the fading snow. ]

One of the nations of my world decided instead of sharing it, they wanted to have all of it. The war went on for a hundred years- then when I was sixteen, me and my sister found the one person who could stop it. And so. Off to war we went.

[namisan]

A hundred years? [That is way too long a time.] Just you and your sister and this person? You had an army you could go join, right?

[alwayscomeback]

Yeah. Long time.

We gained other friends in our travels around the world. And when the final battle came, we had an army. But for the most part, it was our little gang.

[namisan]

[This is actually vaguely ringing a bell, but she can't quite put her finger on it.]

I'm gathering things ended well enough. At least, I hope they did. [Going by Sokka's easygoing responses, anyway.]
