[ The feed opens up with a view of the Heron's cargo bay, set upon a surface and focused on a very plain, yet sizable crate set in the center. Bucky comes into view, absolutely suspicious of the box addressed to him. He circles the crate a few times before kneeling and pulling out a knife so he can shimmy the lid off. It's removed very carefully and set to the side, much like he's diffusing a bomb. It may as well be, he knows what day it is, and this is obviously some weird thing from the Atroma.

He lifts a piece of paper from the top, skims through it quickly and crumples it and tosses the offending thing across the cargo bay. Bucky takes out a package that looks harmless enough- the crate is filled to the brim with very questionably made bottle rockets? Fiddling with it ends in a very harmless but extremely unnecessary explosion of glitter and confetti.

Boy, those sure aren't very nice words are they? Bucky seems to realize that the communicator is broadcasting this catastrophe, so a very glitter and confetti-covered captain stomps over to the device to shut it off. Not long after, a text comes through the network. ]

I don't care who takes the damn things, just get them off my ship. There are 99 more...

[ Throughout the day, Bucky can probably be found sulking around the Heron, or sitting in the kitchen trying to clean glitter out from between the plates of his arm. His mood would be so much better if there were cake. ]

Well, maybe this is juts a get-together, then. But it's also kind of a party.

I'm fine with get-together.

So, have you done anything special at all?

[reconstitution]

What, other than the confetti shower? Not a thing.

[ He's not that broken up about it. ]

And you like it that way, huh? I guess I can live with that idea.

Spent so long not having a reason to, it seems weird trying to again. Missed it last year. Figured it was just another year.

[takingkarabusiness]

One hundred is kind of a big deal, though.

[reconstitution]

I guess, though there's no telling how long I'd actually live. Seems kind of like a broad guessing game.

[takingkarabusiness]

Well, no one really knows. That's kind of the thing about being mortal.

[reconstitution]

Not sure that really includes me anymore. Whatever they did changed me. Maybe that's included in the prolonged life thing.

[ It's hard telling either way. ]

Well, I don't really know about myself, either. Time is different on Earth, I have different biology, and my cousin and I are the only test cases left. So I guess we'll see.

What was time like back on your planet?

[takingkarabusiness]

It's... kind of difficult to explain in English. I guess the simplest explanation would be that we had a different number of hours in a day and a different number of days in a year. But we used a different measuring system, as well.

Oh. I guess that would do it.

I got into more than one argument with my middle school science teachers right after I arrived. Turns out they don't really like to be corrected with science things they've never heard of.

I imagine that went over well.

Some instructors liked me better than others, it's true.
