[ It has been a long time since Steve Rogers has done one of these little network announcements, seven months, if you want to be specific about it. Some things have changed, others haven't. He still looks awkward about addressing a whole lot of people at once for something that isn't an emergency. The uniform is gone, however, replaced by a simple blue t-shirt and jeans and the shield is nowhere in sight.

He seems to have spread many sheets of paper all over the Starstruck's kitchen. Some feature tables of dates - undoubtedly a calendar in the making and others feature, well, drawings; each sheet contains one scenery. They would strike some people as rather familiar, a hand-holding tree, a sandy beach, the market of the tri-fraction system with people wearing clothes in various colors, the woods of the Lagan system, the Nebula lights and lastly, the mountains of Siourew and the Co’kal. ]

I meant to finish a few calendars by New Year's Eve but it seems I'm behind on my deadline.

[ To say the very least. He rubs his chin, there's a beginning of a stubble there. How many days has he devoted to this as of late? it's hard to tell. ]

I'm not going to write years on 'em, since it's different for all of us but I thought it might be a nice way to keep up with dates and holidays.

[ He frowns and confesses, ]

I feel like I've left some things out - and some of you have seen planets I haven't been around to see for myself. I figured I'd ask - if you have the time, you can describe some of them to me and I'll add them to the calendar. It can be anything you liked on any of the planets we've been to.

[ and, okay, fine - ]

I could use a description of where we're currently docked, too.

[ How can a person so big can seem so awkward? ]

[ she didn't. but this is hilarious nonetheless. ]

It wasn't any sort of proposal.

[ he'll never let go of this now. ]

Wait, no. [ she thinks about it for a moment. ] Don't. That would be a terrible idea.

[ ...huh. ]

And why is that? sounds like a great idea to me.

Because. [ think about it. ] He'll make it his life's work.

[uprightness]

[ .... ]

Oh come on, he meant it as a joke.

You shouldn't underestimate him, nor the possibility that he might find great satisfaction in the fact that you mistook it for anything other than what it was.

[uprightness]

Well, if you try to kill him, he'll know what happened anyway.

[ just saying. ]

Honestly? [ she entertains a moment of melancholy. ] I think he did it because he's missing his wife.

[uprightness]

That's a difficult connection to break.

[ and the fleet seemed to have done exactly that. some people manage to build lives here but for others - ]

Makes adjusting even harder.

And I rather think he and Ana have never gone so long without each other -- even when he would lend a helping hand with SSR business, he insisted on being home before his curfew. They never missed Benny Goodman. It's endearing, really.

[uprightness]

It's sweet.

[ he agrees and then hums in thought. ]

Alright, then. Since we can't tell him what happened, we'll have to come up with a safer distraction.

[ honestly, let the man plan the wedding. steve feels for him. ]

[mucked]

A safer distraction. [ why does she feel like this will end in her making some sort of compromise. ] What do you suggest?

[uprightness]

[ he arches an eyebrow, taking a step forward and wrapping his arms around her waist, chasing a proximity that was lost when she drew back from their embrace. ]

You're his friend. He has to enjoy something except for cooking and planning weddings.

[mucked]

-- Perhaps you should ask him to teach you how.

[ to cook, not to plan a wedding. ]

[uprightness]

That takes you out of the equation.

[ he observes. ]

Are you sure you can trust us to spend so many hours alone?

[ it might lead to many conversations about various things, after all. ]

I'm never far away. [ ominous.

peggy reached up (on the tips of her toes, nearly) to kiss the fine top edge of his cheek. ] Besides, you'll need a taste-tester.

[uprightness]

You sure you want to be the guinea pig?

[ he ducks his head, invites this kiss and maybe another. ]

[mucked]

Always.

[ she fits just about one word in, edgewise, before her attention gets swallowed up by his kiss. hard to say, however, whether she meant it because of her love of good food or because she'd never worry with him in the mix. ]

[uprightness]

Alright.

[ he concedes, just a breath away from where the kiss ends. he never really thought of learning anything in the way of cooking but if it'll indeed help jarvis, why not, really.

he could use some pointers on iced tea. ]

You know what, I've changed my mind; not a bad planet, overall.

[ if only because of how this day turned out. he's positively bright. ]
