Action: On the planet - more particularly, in the water.
When: Early morning.

(He is the first son of Fëanor and Nerdanel and he abides by no one's commands but his own. The water calls to him in the same way that the fire repels him. He remembers the agonizing burn as the Silmaril seared through his hand; he remembers how the flames and lava licked at his body, consuming him as if he were a rare treat that should not be allowed to escape. The water helps cool those memories and he makes a pretty sight, floating near one of the Water Temples, his copper locks turning dark red as they flow about him.)

I feel as if I am in the realm of Lord Ulmo; this planet would suit him nicely!

(The image shifts as he climbs out of the water and rests on the steps of a temple. He is not wearing his customary robes, but only a tunic and pants - both of which cling to him, leaving little to the imagination.)

If you have not taken the plunge, so to speak, fleet, I suggest you do so. The water is refreshing.

(For one who is plagued by images of fire and death, it must be.)

And the race that resides here is beautiful to behold. They are fond of their ornamentations and I think they wear them well.

Never. [ Maglor promises, shifting closer so that he can touch Maedhros ] You are my brother.

(They are too old for this, but it's fun.)

You are my brother and I am proud of that fact. (He pulls Maglor into his arms, smiling.)

[bythewaves]

[ Much too old, but Maglor squawks as Maedhros pulls him close, taking advantage to try and dunk him ]

You echo my own sentiments!

(His head disappears beneath the water and he tugs on Maglor's legs in revenge. There is a wide grin on his face.)

[ Maglor squawks, pulled under, where he shoves fondly at his brother ]

(Maedhros snickers and kisses Maglor's nose before he surfaces.)

It is so strange! Being able to breathe under there.

[bythewaves]

[ Maglor blows bubbles at him on his way up ]

Very strange. [ He agrees ]

But if not for how loud it is here, I would enjoy it, I think. I have always wondered what Lord Ulmo's realm is like.

[castintoflames]

It is only loud because your ears are special, Kano. (Maedhros smiles gently, shaking his hair out of his face.) His realm sounds like a symphony.

[bythewaves]

We have all always been drawn to the ocean.

[ Maglor hums at him ]

But I suppose me especially.

[castintoflames]

The sound of the waves hitting the shore always relaxed me. I was very small when I saw Lord Ossë for the first time.

(He nods, agreeing.)

You blend so well with it.

[bythewaves]

We both were, I think. Do you remember how worried amil and atto were, when they realised they couldn't see me anywhere? But Lord Osse let me play with his hair when I got sleepy.

[castintoflames]

Lord Ossë was very affectionate with you. They needn't have worried about you. I believe I was sitting on the shore not far from you, building a castle of sand!

[bythewaves]

He liked you too! I think the Valar and Maiar just don't see a lot of children.

And it was a very big castle!

[castintoflames]

Why would they? They do not procreate in the natural sense of the word.

It was grand. It had many halls and, of course, a large play room.

[bythewaves]

True - I suppose it is all very interesting to them! But I never felt unsafe, and I do not think you did, either.

[ He smiles at the memory ]

And a tall turret!

[castintoflames]

No, they never made me feel uncomfortable. I did trust them with my little brothers, after all.

(He closes his eyes, chuckling.)

With a hermit crab on top!

[bythewaves]

I think it was only Father who was uneasy with them... but he was always overprotective!

[ Maglor laughs softly ]

I liked your castles better than Curvo's - he always got so obsessed with making the corners square...
