Water Tribe in Water Temple on Water Planet

Who: Allen Walker, Clay Terran, Sokka
Broadcast: None
Action: At one of the water temples.
When: Sometime in March!

[On a day where Allen managed to step away from helping with the plague victims, he was convinced to come along to visit one of these temples that were laying around the planet's ocean floor with Clay and Sokka. Even if running through ruins wasn't his idea of great vacation (ruins rarely had food), it didn't seem like a bad way to spend his day with his boyfriend and best friend.

Plus if he was there, there was much less of a chance that either of them could get themselves killed by some giant fish, or their own curiosity.

So he's at the entrance of the temple, a sword and knife equipped just in case something goes wrong - along with a bag of snacks. While the other two get ready in their own way, he's yet again attempting in vain to get his long white hair to stop floating everywhere.]

Ugh...I swear if another fish get caught in my hair....

[Sokka has, of course, equipped his own weapons, just in case. Creepy ruins do tend to mean creepy things attacking them. They might get through scot-free, but it's better safe than sorry.

And this is why Sokka's ponytail is the best, look at him, no hair worries at all. Life is grand. He reaches over to try and pilfer some of those snacks because preparing for an expedition is hungry work don't you know.
]

Why don't you just braid it?
geonomy: (☆ down this river every turn)

[personal profile] geonomy 2017-03-13 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
[And Clay is the one guy who didn't bring a weapon, as he doesn't even know how to wield anything other than his fists, and even that's been slowed down by the water's buoyancy. Bringing along his taser would be a particularly bad idea in the water as well. Instead, he has the device to take pictures with, a waterproof notebook with a special ink that'll write in the water, and measuring devices all clipped to a case at his side. He's already jotting down their arrival to the ruins when he hears that question, and he looks over at Allen with a shrug.]

Or put it in a bun?
alwayscomeback: (I'll know my name)

[personal profile] alwayscomeback 2017-03-13 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
[It's okay, Clay, every expedition needs someone who's life can be in jeopardy while everyone else races around like headless chickens. You're doing a great thing here.

Sokka pulls a face, snatching his hand away.
]

But I'm hungry now.

[And, hair problem solved: ]

And yeah, sure. I'm set.
geonomy: (☆ hope is a four-letter word)

[personal profile] geonomy 2017-03-14 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
[Yeah, you two can fight over the food. Clay's gonna go ahead and drift his way towards the entrance, keeping an eye out just in case some unhappy fish decides to fly at his face.]

I've been ready! Come on!
alwayscomeback: (So tie me to a post)

[personal profile] alwayscomeback 2017-03-14 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
[Such cruelty, Allen. ]

That was an hour ago. A whole hour.

[But making sure Clay doesn't stumble into a trap and die is more important than eating (HE GUESSES) so he heads on after them.]

Yeah, we need your brain.
geonomy: (☆ days are good and)

[personal profile] geonomy 2017-03-14 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
I dunno, you've got a pretty good brain too, Sokka!

[But he'll wait for the other two. They're much more capable than he is with fighting and weaponry, after all, so best if he doesn't move on ahead.]

I wonder if the Dasioe used this temple as a place of worship... and if they did, which god they were worshiping here, or if it was for all three of them?
alwayscomeback: (Looking for special things)

[personal profile] alwayscomeback 2017-03-14 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
True, true. Between the both of us, we'll be unstoppable.

[Which is exactly why they're here in the first place. Gonna use their brains, gonna solve some puzzles. Sokka glances around making a thoughtful hum.]

Maybe there was a fourth god? Or just one and then they split it up into the three. You know, like they decided they wanted to worship three different ways, and then: boom- three different gods.
geonomy: (☆ like a moonbeam across my face)

[personal profile] geonomy 2017-03-14 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
[Clay follows behind Allen, also taking a thoughtful glance around and trying to see if there's anything that can tip them off to what this temple was used for.]

Those are both good points. There's some aspects of religion back in my world that work like that too - the whole splitting into thee parts thing. Or... something like that. Right, Allen?

[Allen would know more about the religious aspect of things than he would. Clay and religion don't really mix well.]
alwayscomeback: (Like thunder in the night)

[personal profile] alwayscomeback 2017-03-15 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
[Sokka has no idea how religions work, it's not something they really have in the Four Nations. It's more a begrudging respect to the Spirits than anything else. And that's mostly because they can and will absolutely ruin your day. ]

Are these actually good treasures, though, or are they ironically bad treasures? Like a cursed but really big slab of gold?
geonomy: (☆ i couldn't lie couldn't i)

[personal profile] geonomy 2017-03-24 06:44 pm (UTC)(link)
And you've got to consider what these people might consider "otherworldly treasure". [He looks all around the altar, as if to search for any sort of clues. Or maybe he's just trying to see how old it might be.] Remember Arslae? Their most valuable treasures were all salt. Good for seasoning, but not much else.
alwayscomeback: (So tie me to a post)

[personal profile] alwayscomeback 2017-03-24 08:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah! Maybe there'd be a whole new spice, that'd be pretty amazing. Think how that would taste.

[They have such priorities. Sokka moves around the perimeter, largely on the lookout for traps. ]

Well, we got this far, might as well!
geonomy: (☆ sink in the river)

[personal profile] geonomy 2017-03-25 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
[Clay just chuckles at those responses as he keeps looking. Trust Blue Fish to think that salt and spices are a treasure beyond belief!]

Yeah, what's the point of turning back now? [He looks over at Allen with a big smile,] Besides, we've got you here. We can take on whatever's ahead! We'll be fine!
alwayscomeback: (And block my ears)

[personal profile] alwayscomeback 2017-03-26 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly, the three of us together are pretty darn unstoppable.

[And so it is with considerable confidence he starts towards the first door.]

geonomy: (☆ said no more counting dollars)

[personal profile] geonomy 2017-03-27 05:44 pm (UTC)(link)
[With Sokka moving on, Clay abandons his research to swim along behind him. As they come closer, the door opens on its own, rising from the floor to bring these newcomers to the trials within.

Of all things, it's this that makes Clay stop and stare at what's going on.]

Whoa... How'd they do that? [He swims upward to try and see if there's some kind of hidden mechanism with the door.] These ruins must be centuries old; what kind of engineering made this possible?
alwayscomeback: (All tonight)

[personal profile] alwayscomeback 2017-03-28 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
Might be something to do with water pressure. Or heck, even a lock system. Shouldn't be too hard to do.

[This is pretty basic Northern Water tribe stuff, honestly, he can live with opening doors. Power of water, and all that.

But oooh, that puzzle. Sokka swims over, glancing at the symbols, then at the statues. Okay, okay.
]

I wonder which one of these doors we want? I mean, it'd suck if one led to our death, which might actually happen you never know.
geonomy: (☆ for a place i've never seen)

[personal profile] geonomy 2017-03-28 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
[Oooooh, puzzle time. Clay, too, looks at the symbols, then the statues. Yeah, that's simple enough. But Sokka has a point.]

Mm, yeah. Maybe these symbols would mean something to the Dasioe, but to us...

[He lightly kicks his feet so that he's up near the ceiling, getting more of a bird's eye view of everything.]

If this works like a video game, then just testing out doors might make monsters pop up if we get the wrong one. Or we won't know 'til it's too late.
alwayscomeback: (It never quite goes)

[personal profile] alwayscomeback 2017-03-28 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
[Sokka kind of just floats there for a second.]

Okay but guys if we do that, what if the door doesn't close again? What if we end up with like, a room full of monsters? I don't know about you guys, but I so do not want to fight a room full of monsters today.
